As expected Down maintained their 100% record in the HL Division 2B but they were made to sweat all the way by a plucky Mayo side at Pairc Esler.

Entering the final quarter, only two points separated the sides and Down breathed a sigh of relief when Mayo goalkeeper Donal O'Brien was off target with a 65th minute penalty.

A late Conor Woods '65' sealed the win for the hosts.
