October 14, 2013
Loughgiel's Benny McCarry sends over a point. INPHO
Loughgiel Shamrocks (Antrim) 1-16
Ballygalget (Down) 1-9
Loughgiel remain firmly on course for a four-in-a-row of Ulster club hurling titles after seeing off Ballygalget at Owenbeg.
The 2012 All-Ireland champions signalled their intent with an eighth-minute goal from man of the match Benny McCarry. The corner forward crashed a powerful shot past Graham Clarke after Liam Watson had found him with a quickly-taken free.
The Antrim men went on to lead by 1-8 to 0-4 at the break, but Ballygalget were much improved after the restart and were given hope when Gareth 'Magic' Johnson netted in the 37th minute. However, Loughgiel never looked in any danger as they advanced to another final where they will face Slaughtneil of Derry.
