Monday 13 May 2013 East Down under-14 'A' League
Carryduff met opponents Kilcoo in very windy conditions. Kilcoo registered their first point within thirty seconds of play and followed with another two points in the 4th and 5th minutes. Carryduff struggled against a very strong breeze but a great ball from Daniel Coogan to Dylan Stronge set Dylan up for a goal in the 6th minute which put Carryduff back into the game. Between the 7th and 8th minutes, Kilcoo replied with two well taken points. Both teams then struggled to score until Chris Campbell (13th minute) found the Kilcoo net after a high ball in from Simon Henry. Rory Oakes then fed Rory Reilly to score a point.
Between the 14th and 18th minutes, the young duffers added 1-02 from Simon Henry (1-00) Chris Campbell (0-01) and Ryan Tweedy (0-01) .
Both teams then squandered a number of opportunities from the 18th minute until the end of the half but Ryan Tweedy managed to add a great point when played through by Daniel Coogan pass to leave half time score Carryduff 3-04 Kilcoo 0-05 .
Carryduff had wind advantage in the second half and Rory Oakes pointed (33rd) after a great pass from John McGeough. There was no further score for the next ten minutes but both teams were playing some fine football. Eoin Maguire pointed in the 43rd minute after played in by Rory Oakes. The introduction of Conor McLornan, P Hynes and Caolan Cunningham for David Hilland, Ryan Murtagh and Micheal Lawson saw Carryduff starting to get the better of the second half exchanges and a free by Ryan Tweedy put the ball into the goalmouth for Christopher Campbell to score a goal after the Kilcoo goalkeeper lost possession.
Another three points from Ryan Tweedy in the 51st, 52nd and 56th minutes put Carryduff in control of the game. Kilcoo did bag a goal but with the last kick of game Carryduff scored another point from Simon Henry to secure the win.

ACPRFL II Friday 17 May 2013 Carryduff - v - Warrenpoint
Played in very reasonable footballing conditions, this encounter at Páirc Aodha Dhuibh was the clichéd 'game-of-two-halves'. By half-time it certainly looked that Carryduff were effectively beaten as they trailed by eight points on a scoreline of 1-10 to 1-02. Gavin Kelly had been lost in the fourth minute of play to a hamstring injury and was replaced by Conall Early. Despite having opened well with points from Ruairi McKay and Luke McGowan within five minutes Carryduff seemed to lose direction and Conall Early's 15th minute goal was the only other score they could muster for the entire first half. No such problems for Warrenpoint who started slowly and had only registered three points within the first fifteen minutes; they surged into gear for the second period of the half and effectively ran amok in the Carryduff defence kicking six unanswered points in a ten minute period from the 17th minute. The few other opportunities they wasted were to prove to have a massive bearing on the eventual outcome of the contest. Finishing the half with a 28th minute goal and another point in the final minute of the half, Warrenpoint seemed to be coasting as crest-fallen Carryduff players greeted the break. Warrenpoint led 1-10 to 1-02.
Things got worse for Carryduff as Warrenpoint immediately pressed further their advantage as soon as the ball was thrown in, adding two further points in the 32nd and 33rd minutes to stretch their advantage to ten points. Ciaran Conway (37th) and Luke McGowan (40th) pointed for Carryduff to reduce the deficit to eight points again.
Decisive action from the Carryduff line saw the introduction of four substitutes in the 43rd minute.
Warrenpoint may have believed that they had the game won at this stage but Carryduff began resurgence. Darren Laverty shot wide twice for Carryduff, unlucky on both occasions and the sides traded points between the 43rd and 45th minutes, Neill McGowan and Conall Early pointing for Carryduff. Carryduff's work-rate improved as their defence worked to limit Warrenpoint's options and further points from Darren Laverty (50th and 54th), Neill McGowan (51st), Luke McGowan (55th) and Conall Early (56th) pulled the home side back to within two points of the visitors. A Warrenpoint score (57th) put three between the sides but a tremendous flourish at the end saw Carryduff dominate possession and Neill McGowan (58th) and Conall Early (59th) pointed before Conor McFlynn's fine point brought the game to a draw just before the final whistle.
Warrenpoint will certainly scratch their heads and wonder how they forfeited a ten point lead but Carryduff will enjoy a sense of achievement at the manner in which they regrouped and dominated the final quarter to reduce such a deficit and earn themselves a share of the spoils on a final score-line of Carryduff 1-15 Warrenpoint 1-15.
The Carryduff team was;- Gary Smyth , Thomas Artherton, Ryan Frrest, Cormac McCrory, Ronan McGrady, Ruairi McKay, Matthew McParland, Darren Laverty, Tony McMahon, Niall McArdle, Ronan McLaughlin, Andy Moorehead, Luke McGowan, Ciaran Conway, Gavin Kelly

ACPRFL II Sunday 19 May 2013 Cherryvale Park Bredagh - v - Carryduff
Bragging rights rest firmly with Carryduff this week after they claimed a ten point victory on Bredagh's home turf. Opening well, Carryduff had three points from Conall Early and Neill McGowan (2) before Bredagh registered their first score from a free. Early pointed from play (10th minute) and Bredagh converted a second free before early converted for Carryduff. Bredagh then had three points from play between the 17th and 20th minutes to take the contest to a draw before Carryduff took a grip on the game to dominate the second period of the first half. Although they kicked three wides in this period further points from Neill McGowan (24th and 28th) and Early (22nd) and McKay (24th) gave them a four points advantage at the break. Carryduff led 0-09 to 0-05.
Carryduff's impressive start to the second half set them up for the remainder of the game. Neill McGowan, Luke McGowan and Conall early added three points within the opening three minutes and frustration became increasingly evident on Bredagh's part as their undisciplined tackling began to attract greater attention from referee Philip Stacey. One Bredagh defender, having picked up a yellow card, was replaced by a substitute who picked up another yellow card within a minute of coming onto the pitch. Carryduff continued to exert pressure running at the Bredagh defence and a further point from Neill McGowan (38th) stretched Carryduff to an eight point lead. Carryduff's defence worked tirelessly and the impressive Ronan McGrady and Michael Graham marshalled the wings, repeatedly breaking down Bredagh's forward play. Sound cover from the full back line of Morris, Forrest and Flynn enabled centre half back Ben Fitzsimons to forage forward and contribute to the Carryduff pressure. Bredagh pulled back a point from a converted free but the pressure told when they were reduced to fourteen men after a dismissal for a second yellow card offence. Carryduff saw the half out with three further points from Neill McGowan (55th), Conall Early (58th) and Mark McConville (59th) as Bredagh registered only a single point in the final quarter.
Final Score; Bredagh 0-07 Carryduff 0-17

East Down Under-14 'A' League Monday 20 May 2013 Carryduff - v - RGU Downpatrick
No-one was leaving early when Carryduff Under-14 A squad met RGU at Páirc Aodha Dhuibh in this top-of-the-table clash on Monday night. The game went right to the wire and either team could have ended up with the two league points. At the final whistle it was Carryduff who emerged victorious, courtesy of a last minute penalty which striker Ryan Tweedy had to follow to put the rebounding ball into the Downpatrick net after a heroic save from 'keeper Conor Logue.
Downpatrick enjoyed the assistance of a stiff breeze in the first half and got into attack mode immediately with points from Ben Curran and Nathan McAuley (free) before kicking three wides in quick succession. Carryduff had points from Ryan Tweedy and Ryan Murray to level affairs before Downpatrick enjoyed a period of dominance in the middle of the first half when they collected three points from Tim Prenter (2) and Nathan McAuley. Carryduff then took control for an eight minute spell when they had points from Rory Reilly, Ryan Tweedy (2) and Ryan Murray and a goal from Rory Oakes. Their four point lead was reduced however when Sean McCrissican pointed for Downpatrick and Ronan Murphy found the Carryduff net just before the half came to a close.
At half time the teams were equal on 1-06 apiece.
Carryduff got off to a bright start to the second half and dominated for a fifteen minute period when they had points from Daniel Coogan, Rory Oakes, Ryan Tweedy (2) and Ryan Murray. Ryan Tweedy also scored Carryduff's second goal in the sixth minute of the half to give the home side a five point advantage after 40 minutes of play but San McCrissican's 44th minute goal for Downpatrick had managed to take them to within two points of Carryduff before three Carryduff points were registered. Carryduff at this stage were enjoying a 2-11 to 2-07 advantage but a pointed free from Daniel Kelly (48th Minute) and a goal from Ben Curran (51st) suddenly had Downpatrick only trailing by the narrowest of margins. Ryan Tweedy (53rd) and Christopher Campbell (53rd) quick points for Carryduff before Christopher Campbell long range free found its way into the Downpatrick net. With only moments on the clock and Carryduff ahead by six points the game looked as though it was over. However, in a determined blitz of the Carryduff defence Downpatrick scored two further goals and a point to suddenly put them one point clear. As referee Johnny Marks saw out the extra time he had allocated a deep probing ball into the Carryduff full forward line resulted in a penalty for the home side. Ryan Tweedy struck it well but Conor Logue pulled off an excellent save. Ryan was fastest to react following the rebound and driving to the Downpatrick net to give Carryduff a two point victory on a final score-line of Carryduff 4-13 RGU Downpatrick 5-08.
Credit to both teams for serving up a very fine game of football that kept all supporters riveted to the final whistle.
