• Under 12 Boys had a good win over Carryduff on Sunday morning.
• Under 16 ladies had a comprehensive win over Bryansford on Sunday afternoon at Pairc Eoghan Rua.
• There were 37 young Kilcoo camogs who battled it out in the U6/8/10 camogie blitz, hosted by Longstone on Sunday last. Kilcoo entered one team in the U6 section and two teams each in the U8 and U10 section. All teams yet again displayed excellent camogie skills and their enthusiasm and enjoyment of all the games was infectious, with parents and supporters becoming engrossed in the action and cheering every skill and effort displayed. The U6 team won all their games played, defeating local rivals Clonduff and Longstone.
The U8's won all their games except for their very last match against An Riocht in which they were narrowly defeated. The U10 camogs won most of their games but were initially defeated by An Riocht and subsequently managed a very creditable draw against them. The Kilcoo girls had impressive victories over Clonduff with mixed fortunes against Longstone: winning one game and being narrowly defeated in their last match. A special mention to our wing forward, Kelly McEvoy who was playing so well but unfortunately had to retire early due to a very painful injury. The Management and her team players wish Kelly a speedy recovery!
A big well done to both Aoife Shaw and Clionagh McConville who were awarded joint players of the day! Congratulations to all our young camogs and thank you to hosts Longstone for a great day and the refreshments. A special thanks to all the parents for their continued support and for assisting with the transport to all the blitzes. Go raibh mile maith agaibh!
• The U14 Camogie girls and their management attended Down's annual Feile na nGael, last Saturday which was hosted in Warrenpoint. It was indeed a very wet rainy day but that certainly did not dampen or weaken the girls playing spirit and determination. The camogs won their first game against An Riocht taking them straight through to the semi-final of the Cup Competition at St Mark's High School. The girls' camogie skills, grit and determination was very evident on the day. Unfortunately, they were then defeated by Ballygalget but they bowed out of the competition with their heads held high after their strong performance on the field. Well done girls!! Megan Devlin represented the club's U14 girls for the camogie skills competition which was held the day before the Feile. Even though Megan did not win this competition, she did herself proud on the day with great effort and endurance. Well done to all the girls and management, for your participation and representing our club!
