The Seniors travel to face Saul on Thursday night hoping to build on their recent victory over Kilclief. This is followed by a home game against Carryduff on Sunday.
The Reserves next fixture is a home game against Saul on Wednesday 15th May.
Last Tuesday, the Minors were beaten at home by Loughinisland on a scoreline of St Johns 2-6 Loughinisland 7-12. On Tuesday they travelled to Ballykinlar to face St Josephs and then they host Atticall on Tuesday 14th May.
St Johns Under 16s made the trip to Jack Mackin Park to take on Newry Mitchells in round 5 of the league. The young Johnnies started brightly scoring the first 2 points of the match through Aodhan Morgan and Owen Moag. Mitchell's responded well with a goal and 2 points of their own. St Johns then hit a good spell scoring 3 goals and 5 points without reply through Owen Moag (1-1), Aodhan Morgan (1-1), Michael McCourt (0-2) Tiernan Noade (1-0) and Paul Walsh (0-1), the pick of which was a long range goal from Tiernan. Mitchell's got the last score of the half with a goal leaving the half-time score Mitchell's 2-2 St Johns 3-7.
St Johns played some great football in the first half with Conor Moag showing well as the target man and Michael McCourt who caused the Mitchell's defence problems all night. In defence Dylan Kelly was having a strong game.
Playing against the strong wind in the 2nd half St Johns knew that there was hard work to be done to come away with the win. Mitchell's started brightly using the long ball to good effect and scored 1-3 without reply. St Johns replied with a goal and 2 points from Aodhan, the sides then traded points with Michael McCourt on target. A further 1-1 from Mitchell's left just 3 points between the sides.
St Johns then moved 6 clear when Rory Arkins made an excellent high fielded catch in his own 21 and the team moved the ball the length of the pitch where Rory was on hand at the end to finish to the net. Mitchell's responded with a well taken point, but in reply came a well taken point from a tight angle from Tiernan and a point from distance from Paul Walsh after a strong run.
Mitchells then scored from the penalty spot after a dubious decision leaving 6 between the teams with time running out. Aodhan Morgan then finished the scoring for St Johns on the night but 2 late goals left only the minimum between the teams but the final whistle came leaving the final score Newry Mitchells 7-7 St Johns 5-14.
A good win for St Johns who had strong performances in defence from Dylan, Rory and Jarlath, who held their danger pretty quiet in the 2nd half. Up front Michael McCourt and Aodhan had strong games ably assisted by Tiernan, Conor and Ciaran. Owen and Sean also did a lot of work in the middle. The team as a whole deserve a mention for their performance and it was clear to see the work on the training field is starting to filter into the games. The art of high catching was clearly on show with Rory, Aodhan, Owen and Paul showing great skill in this area through the hour.
St Johns - Jamie McKevitt, Oisin McPolin (Jarlath Kelly), Conall McPolin (c), Dylan Kelly, Rory Arkins (1-0), Paul Walsh (0-2), Sean O'Neill and Owen Moag (1-2). Tiernan Noade (1-1), Aodhan Morgan (2-5), Ciaran Magorrian (Conor Gordon), Conor Moag (Nikki McMullan) and Michael McCourt (0-4)

The Under 12s had a lunchtime start in Carrduff on Sunday. Carryduff started the strongest and went in ahead at half time. The Johnnies upped their performance in the second half. Amy and Andrew gave their all and the pocket rocket contributed 3-02, the highest scorer two weeks in a row.
Daniel was steady in goal and his long kickouts relieved the pressure. Carryduff finished out deserved winners on a 4-14 to 4-5 scoreline. Next Sunday the Under 12s travel to face Bright.
