HL2B: Hennelly fires Exiles to victory
March 11, 2013
London 0-21
Down 2-8
Galway native Gerard Hennelly bagged a dozen points as London regained winning ways with a fine victory over Down at Ruislip.
London looked to be in a spot of bother when Danny Toner's goal helped Down to a six-point lead after 21 minutes, but the hosts rallied with five points coming up to half-time to trail by 0-8 to 1-7 at the short whistle.
With Hennelly in unerring form, the Exiles scored six unanswered points after the restart before a 60th minute goal from substitute Kevin McGarry revived Down's challenge.
However, London grabbed the last five scores to run out comfortable winners in the end.
