Daniel Andre Memorial U10 Football Tournament Saturday 26th May 2012
Twenty five teams assembled in sun-drenched Clonduff Park on Saturday 26th May 2012 for the inaugural Daniel Andre Memorial U10 Football tournament - what a fitting tribute to a sports-mad young Clonduffian who tragically lost his life in a drowning accident about 100m from the Club. We say a big 'Thank You' to the clubs from Down, Armagh, Louth and Belfast who participated.
The teams were divided into four groups before going into the knock-out stage with the top two in each group playing off for the Cup which was eventually won by Ballyholland; the middle two teams from each group played off for the shield which Kilcoo won and the bottom teams in the groups played off for the Plate which Drumgath won. However, the day was not about winning trophies and medals - it was about a lot of youngsters enjoying the festival of football in tribute to Daniel Andre.
An event such as this couldn't take place without the legions of Clonduff volunteers who gave their time and help on Saturday preparing the pitches, sound system burger stall, putting up flags before the event; administrators, referees (some of our Young Referees were taking charge of their first games), pitch co-ordinators, runners, those who made tea, burgers, attended the shop, parents who supplied sandwiches and other eatables, etc. The big crowd were well satisfied with their day out.
To Luigi, Donna, Lauren and Cara, Daniel will forever be in the hearts and minds of all in Clonduff. Lauren said on our Facebook page "Thanks to all who helped make it such a wonderful day! May we have many more to come!!"

Defibrillator and Pitch-side First Aid in Clonduff
On Thursday 25th May 2012 Clonduff organised its second annual Defibrillator and Pitch Side First Aid course. Twenty club members, mostly team mentors attended this brings the number of trained First Aiders/Defibrillator users to over 40 as 21 members did the training in 2011. It is Clonduff GAA Club's aim to have at least one such trained person in every mentoring team in every sport.
The Course was delivered by John Cartmill of Craigavon Cardiac Rehab.
Thanks to Fr Cushenan for use of Parochial Meeting Room as Clonduff Clubrooms were otherwise engaged.

Football
SFL Kilcoo 1-10 Clonduff 0-11
Starred players, injured players, holidaying players - the team that travelled down the road to Kilcoo on Friday night put on a great show despite missing what would be deemed ten starting players. Kilcoo won a penalty near the end of the game to go two up and despite sterling work from Clonduff they just couldn't get back on level terms which they more than deserved. Team and scorers: Gary Haughian, John McPolin, Ruiari Lively, Shane McGreevy, Paul McConville, Paul Lively Rory Grant, Niall McPolin, Mark McPolin, Kieran Trainor (0-2), Eugene Branagan, Finbarr McConville (0-6), Conor "g O'Hagan, Shane Ward, Patrick McGreevy (0-1). Subs used: Eamon O'Reilly, Karl O'Hagan (0-2), Niall Tumilty, Stephen Branagan, Aaron Sherry

Hurling
Div 2 HL Ballycran 1-8 v Clonduff 1-14
This was an excellent win in the Ards on Monday night.
U12 Hurling
Clonduff had a good win over Ballela on Thursday night. The first half was very close but in the second the lads played with much more confidence and ran out easy winners. This Thursday's game has been called off and training continues on Friday evenings from 6pm - 7pm for ALL boys from Under 12 and below. Helmets and Hurls are provided and the door is always open to anyone whether you have played before or not.

Camogie

The U 12 s had two teams on the read on Saturday morning at Aghaderg and Ballygalget, unfortunately both lost to stronger opposition. The senior team lost to Ballycran in the league on Wednesday, a late goal rush from the visitors gave the scoreline a lob sided look.
The U 16 team beat Ballygalget 7-05 to 5-04 in the league , this sit hoer third win over Ards opposition this week.
Ladies Football
The senior team lost heavily to Ballymartin in the league on Saturday evening.
Carryduff 1gl. 2pts. Clonduff. 4gls. 3pts.
Another great result for the Clonduff U12 girls football team this time away to Carryduff on Sunday evening. In soaring heat and with teams showing a fierce hunger a real battle in sued. Carryduff eventually drew 1st blood with a well taken goal. Challenged, the response was swift.
Laying siege on the opposition goals they immediately levelled up proceedings. This give the girls confidence and competing more aggressively now esp. down the middle where Carryduff were strongest the scores began to come. Clonduff ran out worthy winners against strong opposition and this will help to bring these young girls on a step further in there development. Well done all.
23 girls travelled and all played their part equally . A special mention to
the younger girls who came on as subs namely Ella McCumiskey,Aoife and Orla
McCusker, Aoife Brown. Sarah Kelly, Molly Campbell,Caoimhe Hughes, Emma
McGreevy, and Sinead Woods and new comer Ally MaGee who impressed throughout
. Remaining team; Corshenna McCoy. Summer and Tamzin Brannigan. Kyla
