Tyrone left it late to earn a 0-11 to 1-8 draw with Down in Round 2 of the Ulster U20FC at The Dub in Belfast last evening.

Facile first round winners over Antrim, the Red Hands needed two injury-time points from Conor Owens and Omagh CBS Hogan Cup winning captain Callum Daly on this occasion to rescue a share of the spoils against the holders.

Down looked to be on course for victory when they led by 1-4 to 0-2 at the break with Donal Scullion raising their green flag in the 26th minute. The Mournemen continued to lead up until Tyrone's late rally.

In Castleblayney, Monaghan were 2-8 to 1-6 winners over Antrim.

Bobby McCaul's 16th minute goal helped the hosts to a 1-3 to 0-4 interval lead before Jonny Hannon's major halved the deficit for the Saffrons in the second half.

But they couldn't get any closer as Kian Duffy's late goal sealed the win for the Farneymen.
