A sincere thanks to all those who helped with the 8-week indoor camogie coaching programme, you could see the improvement in the girls who took part. Everyone now has a well-deserved break over Christmas. Then on Friday 25 January two hours & Saturday 26 January six hours (enough notice now to book off work if you really want to) there is a course which all coaches must complete, including a module on the ‘Code of Ethics and Best Practice’, which is compulsory for any coach or volunteer who works with children, youths or vulnerable groups. It's minimum 12 participants, maximum 25 for this Award. If everyone involved in Camogie did this Award, it could be used as a bonding type exercise, all the camogie Head Coaches and Coach Assistants, plus players aged 15+ (good for cv). The importance of completing this as a group cannot be stressed enough and everyone who completes it will receive branded coach gear. Everyone doing it together means everyone working off the same page, there’s no reason why everyone cannot do it. This is a GAA Hurling course, none of our Camogie personnel will have done it before and it will be delivered by Ulster GAA Coach and Regional Hurling Development Officer Conor CJ McGourty at Dunavil.

The Men’s Shed attended the First World War Museum during the week.
