Burren 2-12

Kilcoo 2-9

Donal O'Hare scored 2-5 as Burren ended Kilcoo's bid for a remarkable seven-in-a-row of Down SFC titles at Pairc Esler.

In what was a repeat of last year's decider, Burren turned the tables on the Magpies, much to the delight of their supporters in the 6,526 attendance.

Goalkeeper Cathal Murdock kicked four huge frees, including three from 50 metres, for the winners in the first half, but goals from Ceilum Doherty and Jerome Johnston meant it was all-square at the break, 2-3 to 0-9.

O'Hare first goal from a penalty shortly after the restart put Burren two points up, but the holders fought back to level, 1-10 to 2-7, by the end of the third quarter. But Burren never looked back after O'Hare's second goal with 10 minutes remaining finally ended Kilcoo's long reign.
