The Senior Gaelic Saval v An Riocht went ahead with An Riocht scoring an eleven points to eight win while in the second league fixture An Riocht played out a 0-11 to 2-5 draw with Ballyholland. Hopefully there will be no let up by our boys this weekend with four points up for grabs over Friday and Sunday.

There will be huge excitement this weekend as the P3/P4 footballers play their first blitz on Saturday, cars leave Dunavil 9am.

Dunavil hosted the All Ireland Minor 'B' Camogie Championship match between Down and Roscommon on Saturday which the locals won. An Riocht had five players -Shannagh Campbell, Amy Clarke, Rachel Cunningham, Aoife McDowell and Orlaith O'Rourke in action. Thanks to those who helped.

The U12 Gaelic Rostrevor v An Riocht was switched to Dunavil on Sunday morning and it was another good game with An Riocht again a little out of their depth; a favourable run of the ball flattered the Reds who recorded an 8-7 to 2-5 win. Highlight was a great block by Logan Rooney to end a Rostrevor attack.

Now that the Camogie Leagues have started it is beneficial to remind team mentors of the protocols involved:

- The home team for underage Camogie games must provide the referee, you all have your fixtures, so plan ahead;

- If you win an underage game the score must be with the Club Secretary that evening so that results may be published and league tables updated by County Board;

- All players who have paid their membership are now registered. If a new player starts from now or a player returns late from last season they need to be registered. A player must be registered three days before they play a competitive game; contact the Club Secretary/Registrar immediately if this situation arises.

- All friendly games need to be communicated to the County Secretary three days in advance to ensure insurance cover, again via the Club Secretary;

- If you need to change a fixture for any reason please let Club Secretary know well in advance. We would prefer to keep to the fixture schedule from County Board however sometimes we will need to move games. As the pitches are very busy already we will need good notice of changed games.

- Please ensure that all players wear helmets at all times during matches and trainings, our players are not covered by insurance if they are not wearing a helmet.

- Team sheets for each fixture can be collected in advance from the Club Office from the Sunday of that week;

- Match reports should be returned to the Club Office or post box or email to [email protected] asap after match or before 1pm on Sunday.

- Camogie Fixtures booklets are available from the Club Office, take enough for each of your players.

With the advent of the Gaelic Games playing season it is becoming more and more obvious to more and more people just how many volunteers are required to keep the club going. There is an opportunity for someone to train as a Volunteer Manager with Volunteer Now, this is a hugely important role as the club relies on volunteers to run it, so if interested please contact us asap. There are only 15 places available in Northern Ireland and the course usually costs £520.

In Basketball's Super Cup, the Knights got revenge on the BC Wolves who pipped them for the Premier League title with a 107 to 103 Super Cup semi final win at Cookstown Leisure Centre.
