The late Connie O'Donnell The sympathy of the community is extended to the family of the late Connie O'Donnell of Annagry who was laid to rest. Connie, a native of Glenties, was well known in the area having run the local Teach Conal pub with wife Maureen and family for the past few years. He was a much loved and respected member of the community and his passing is much regretted by everyone who knew him. He was a very active member of the community and not one to shy away from getting involved in activities. He was much involved in the Annagry Community Centre development committee and was also a member of the Annagry Development Committee. He played a leading role in the annual clean-up in the village and was also much involved with the Christmas lighting project. He was prominent in the Naomh Mhuire GAA Club and was a former reserve and minor manager with the club. He was also actively involved with his native Naomh Conaill club before moving to Annagry. The family and staff of the pub also involved themselves in raising funds for charity and only earlier this year organised a major fund raising drive for Our Lady's Hospital for sick children in Crumlin. The very large attendance at his wake and funeral was an indication of the high esteem in which he was held. Funeral Mass was concelebrated in Mary's Star of the Sea Church, Annagry and burial took place in the new cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his wife, Maureen, sons, Patrick, Conor, Danny, daughter, Katie, mother Kitty (a native of Meendernasloe), two brothers, three sisters and extended family circle. The Naomh Mhuire Club and team members along with pupils from Annagry National School and Pobal Scoil Cloughaneely formed a guard of honour outside the church.
