Killybegs win delights Coleman

Everton star Seamus Coleman was in Ballybofey last Sunday to see his former Killybegs team-mates book their place in the Donegal SFC final.

The men from the fishing village edged out surprise-packets Malin to book their place in the October 20 decider against Michael Murphy's Glenswilly, and Coleman - who is expected to start the Republic of Ireland's meaningless World Cup qualifier against Germany tomorrow night - was quick to congratulate the Killybegs players on the MacCumhaill Park pitch afterwards.

The full back admitted to Highland Radio that he gets more worked up about Killybegs games than he does when he is playing for Everton or Ireland.

"I'd be more nervous watching the lads than I would be watching my own games. Thankfully they got over the line and they'll have a county final to look forward to," he said.

"When it's Killybegs playing, it means a bit more. It's something I was a big part of growing up, I played with all them lads. I'm delighted to see them get to a county final."
