Donegal manager Jim McGuinness celebrates with Michael Murphy INPHO
Michael Murphy's plea that club fixtures in Donegal be shelved this weekend to allow the All-Ireland champions' walking wounded extra-time to recover from injuries has been ignored.
The Irish Examiner reports that the Donegal County Board yesterday released the weekend fixtures and, as expected, all 16 of the county's senior clubs are in action.
Murphy sustained a slight ankle strain in the hard-fought 0-12 to 0-9 win over Down last Sunday.
Jim McGuinness had to plan without the services of injured duo Karl Lacey and Neil Gallagher while Frank McGlynn and Ryan Bradley both suffered concussion against the Mourne County.
Afterwards, the All-Ireland winning captain said: "Please God we can get these injuries to clear up.
"It looks like club championship is on this weekend and it's not ideal from our situation."
