Lacey goes under the knife
June 09, 2013
A delighted Karl Lacey.
Karl Lacey is unlikely to be fit for Donegal's Ulster SFC semi-final against Down on June 23 after undergoing knee surgery.
The reigning Footballer of the Year had the operation on Thursday, just four days after he lined out for his club Four Masters against Ardara in the Donegal SFC. Lacey came on as a second half substitute in Donegal's quarter-final win over Tyrone, which was his first appearance for the All-Ireland champions since he had a hip operation last December.
Donegal manager Jim McGuinness is also sweating on the fitness of Frank McGlynn, David Walsh, and Neil Gallagher ahead of the meeting with James McCartan's men.
