A delighted Karl Lacey.
Footballer of the Year Karl Lacey is 'confident' he will be fit to line out for the All-Ireland champions in the Ulster SFC quarter-final clash with Tyrone.

Donegal will put their Anglo Celt Cup crown on the line when they entertain Tyrone at Ballybofey on May 26.

Lacey - who underwent a hip operation last December - lined out for both club and county over the weekend and says he is confident he will be available but is adopting a cautious approach.

"I'm confident I'll be available. But it's too early to say yet," Lacey explained to the Irish Independent.

"I have only two training sessions and two games under my belt so far. It's less (than) three weeks away, it's cutting it very tight.

"Everything that's possible, I'll do it. It's down to Jim (McGuinness) and Rory (Gallagher), if they think I'm fit enough and sharp enough. That's their call."
