Friel eyes final berth
April 19, 2013
Donegal minor manager Stephen Friel would like to see his side progress in the Ulster league.
On Saturday, Friel takes his charges to Downpatrick where they will play Down in the semi final. Throw in at 2pm.
Last weekend's win over Antrim secured Donegal's spot in the semi final and he admitted to the Donegal Democrat that they were keen to push on.
"It's better going into the semi finals with successive wins compared to just stumbling in there. It's a bit of a cliché, but I've always said that the league is about preparing us for the Ulster championship and Tyrone on May 26th," said Friel.
"But we're in a league semi final and we will take the game seriously. Some of the mistakes we have made in games have been poor, but we have time on our side to rectify these in the next six weeks."
