Donegal welcome investigation
April 12, 2013
The Donegal county board have welcomed the decision by the CCC to investigate the biting incident during their clash with Dublin.
Donegal forward Paddy McBrearty is alleged to have been bitten by a Dublin defender during last weekend's draw between the sides at Ballybofey.
The result of the match saw the All-Ireland champions relegated, but that has been overshadowed by the alleged unsavoury incident.
McBrearty was treated in Letterkenny General hospital, but the injury was not serious and he lined out for the county under-21s in their Ulster final defeat to Cavan on Wednesday night.
However, the county board released a statement saying they were fully behind the investigation into the matter.
"We welcome the decision of Croke Park to launch an investigation and we will full cooperate with the investigation," said the statement.
"Our position remains the same as it was when we notified the referee and the Dublin medical team on Sunday evening. We will now allow due process to be carried out."
