The GAA's Central Competition Controls Committee has commenced an investigation into the alleged biting incident involving Donegal's Paddy McBrearty and a Dublin opponent in Ballybofey last Sunday.

The Irish Independent reports that the CCCC has made contact with Donegal and have asked them to supply any evidence or information they might have in relation to the alleged incident.

It adds that Donegal officials reported the matter to referee Padraig Hughes at half-time while his replacement Michael Hughes was also made aware of it after the final whistle.

It is understood that it was detailed in the referee's match report which triggered the CCCC investigation.

Apparently, McBrearty is not keen to pursue the matter and wants to concentrate on tonight's Ulster U21 final against Cavan in Enniskillen. Tweet
