Kearns, John

THE LATE JOHN KEARNS Any time a young man passes away, a community is left with a void and a felling of shock and sadness. So it was when Prosperous lost a talented young sportsman, John Kearns of Killybegs, who was laid to rest recently. A hurler and footballer of no mean skill, John could be fiery on the field. On the other hand what happened on the field stayed on the field, which is just what you could expect from a character with a heart of gold. He hurled with Eire Og-Cora-Choill and played football with Caragh, as well as doing a short stint with Allenwood. Members of the local clubs provided guards of honour at John's removal and funeral. To his family and may friends we convey deepest sympathy on behalf of a grieving community. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam siorai Courtesy of the Leinster Leader 7th August, 2008
