Declan Bonner made no attempt to hide his disappointment after Donegal let victory slip against Mayo on Saturday night.

Super-sub James Durcan's late deflected goal earned Mayo an unlikely draw in Ballybofey, much to the Donegal manager's frustration.

"We put in a big shift and I thought that with us being three points up eight and-a-half minutes into extra-time, I thought we had it," he admitted to the Irish Daily Mirror.

"But fair play to Mayo who came back and goaled, but we would be disappointed with our defending for the last play as we were the better side for the most part of the game.

"It's disappointing, but it's a point on the board."

He added: "The two goals from our point of view were sloppy, a high ball that should have been dealt with better was the first goal, but it was a real harsh lesson for these young lads, especially from that last goal."
