Letterkenny Gaels club notes

February 05, 2019

Well done to our club members who took part in Scór Sinsear last weekend in Burtonport. The Gaels Scór drama group - Celine Bradley, Paul Brady, Garry Coll, Brian Sweeney and Sheila Sweeney performed 'Packie McNamee'. Written by Fergus Cleary and adapted by Brian it is the story of two hapless Donegal men and their trip to Croke Park to see Donegal beat Dublin in the All Ireland Final. The play was brilliant and is through to the County Final this Friday in Glenfin. Brian's recitation of 'The Four Farrellys" was very entertaining and he will be taking that to the County Final too. Bairbre Uí Chathail sang the solo ballad. Grace Rogers, Martin Davis and Brian Sweeney completed in the Ceol Uirlise competition, playing three excellent tunes but were pipped at the post despite coming out with a score of 96/100. Paul Brady, Jim McGlynn, Garry Coll and Bairbre Uí Chathail formed the quiz team. Bhí oíche iontach againn agus gabhann muid buíochas le Club Clochán Liath a chuir fáilte ullmhór romhainn uilig. All support very welcome for the County Final in Glenfin 7.30 on Friday 8th February.
