Odhrán MacNiallais is expected to make his Donegal return in the upcoming Dr McKenna Cup.

MacNiallais, who came to prominence under Jim McGuinness in 2014, opted out this year and spent the summer in New York where he won a New York SFC medal alongside Leo McLoone, who has also returned to the county fold under new manager Declan Bonner.

According to the Donegal Sports Hub, Darach O'Connor will also return in the McKenna Cup after putting his injury problems behind him. Donegal have been drawn in the same group as Queen's University, Monaghan and Fermanagh, who are managed by former Donegal boss Rory Gallagher.
