Naomh Colmcille (Donegal) 1-9
Belnaleck (Fermanagh) 0-6

Naomh Colmcille became the first Donegal club to secure Ulster junior championship honours after overcoming Belnaleck by double scores tonight.

The Tir Chonaill County champions produced the second-half goods at a chilly Celtic Park to outscore their Fermanagh counterparts by 1-6 to 0-2, with Matthew Crossan's 47th minute goal sending the winners on their way.

Joseph Heavey's frees had helped Belnaleck to lead by the minimum at the break (0-4 to 0-3) and a fine score from Ciaran McBrien doubled their advantage within three minutes of the resumption.

However, Naomh Colmcille rattled off the next four scores without reply through Willie Gillespie (2), Michael Lynch and Daniel Clarke before Crossan's well-timed strike swung this decider completely in their favour.

Belnaleck simply had no response to their counterparts' scorching form and at the other end Clarke (2) and Lynch (a '45') sailed over points to make sure the Newtowncunningham club would be taking home the Kerr Cup.
