A farmer and a well known figure in GAA circles in County Derry, he is survived by his wife Teeny (nee Wilson) and sons, Sean and Brendan. Mr Donnelly was strong supporter of Ballinderry Shamrocks GAC which he served over the years in a number of roles. A former playing member , he was manager for some years. He also headed the administrations as Chairman and latterly as honourary Vice-President. Mr Donnelly was a founder member and former Chairman of Ballinderry Bridge Parochial Bowling Club. He also assisted in the foundation of Ballinderry Historical Association and was involved in the production of its successful history of the area published last year.
