Camogie
U6, U8, U10 and U12 Camogie is at the top pitch at the club on Wednesday evenings from 5.30pm to 6.45pm. New members welcome.
The U14s had a league match against glen on the bank holiday Monday evening. The Screen girls got off to a shaky start and let Glen take a few easy scores. After some solid defending in the second half, the screen girls upped their game and got a few great goals in the last 10 minutes which seen them run out easy winners. Well done girls.
What seemed like a busy weekend for underage camogie, turned out the opposite as the U14 Feile semi-final against Swatragh was cancelled due to the weather, as was the Swatragh underage blitz on Sunday.
The Feile match should be rescheduled for this week and we would call for Screen support in their numbers. More details will be published on the Screen website.
The U16s hope to have their first league match this week, check website for more details.
Senior Football
Ballinascreen 1-10 Bellaghy 0-8
Getting a victory at Sean de Brun Park is always a tough ask but our lads played very well on Sunday past to gain a deserved 5 point victory over Bellaghy Wolfe Tones.
Benny Heron set the tone for the match starting with 2 excellently taken frees and finished the match with a personal tally of 1-6 after scoring a penalty in the second half.
Bellaghy got a man sent off towards half time and from there Screen took a stranglehold on the game and never looked like letting Bellaghy back into the match. Emmet McKillion scored 2 points with one a piece coming from Kieran Conway and Carlus McWilliams.
Team and Scorers: JP McConnell, A Clerkin, D McBride, D Scullion, R Devlin, J Scullion, K Conway (0-1), M McBride, P Burns, C McWilliams (0-1), B Heron (1-6), Eu Murray, S Bradley, E McKillion (0-2), Ea Murray.
Feile na nÓg Football
Commiserations to our gallant Under 14 footballers who suffered a narrow defeat to Bellaghy at the Brand New Owenbeg last Bank Holiday Monday.
After starting the match well Screen saw themselves take the lead coming up the the 2nd half with 2 superbly taken goals from John Paul Devlin. A lack of points was a problem though with the lads hitting a couple of wides while Bellaghy were more clinical in front of the posts.
A dubious penalty decision was then awarded to Bellaghy which they duly dispatched to leave them a bit of a cushion that Screen could not claw back.
Well done to all the lads and the management team on representing the Club so well in a County Final. We are sure there will be success to follow in the very near future.

Under 16 Hurling
Congratulations to the victorious Ballinascreen U16 Hurling Team, who travelled to Ballyshannon on Monday 6th May and swept all before them to win the Alan Ryan Cup U16 Hurling tournament. Also in the Photograph is the Liam McCarthy Cup, which was on display for the day.
Teams from all over Ulster and Connacht fought it out in a very competitive and entertaining days hurling with Ballinascreen finishing the day with a 100% record and as champions.
In the group stages they overcame Easkey (Sligo), Tuam (Galway) and Tooreen (Mayo) to qualify for the semi Finals against Padraig Pearses (Roscommon).
After a hard fought and very physical match, the Derry men prevailed with 6 points to spare and a place in the final against Easkey, who defeated Ballycastle in the other semi final, was secured.
The final was a titanic battle between two very talented and committed sides. Screen's long range point taking and excellent defence laid the platform for a well deserved victory, final score Ballinascreen - 2.7 Easkey - 1.7.
On Sunday 12th May Ballinascreen U16 Hurlers played Swatragh in the opening round of the County league. The game was played in conditions that were difficult to say the least. Swatragh had the benefit of the strong wind in the first half and took an early 1.1 to no score lead, however the Screen men settled into the game with Peter Lagan giving an exhibition at Centre half Back and Eoghan Gilmore, Ciaran Mc Bride and Eamon Conway standing up and taking control against of the situation. Screen drew level with 4 unanswered points before half time through Ronan O Kane, Sean Brunton (2) and Franny Doherty and were very unlucky not to lead at the break when James Duffy hit the post with a rocket of a ground shot from 20 yards.
The second half was a totally different game, screen went up through the gears and began to impose their style of play on the match and the supporters were treated to a wonderful array of fine scores coming from throughout the team. The support play and work ethic of the Screen team in the second half was a credit to the club, and enabled Screen to eventually defeat Swatragh with a final score of 6.8 - 2.2.
