Derry manager Ger Rogan has hailed the county board's support of the hurling team.

Rogan feels that the Derry county board have come in for unfair criticism from some quarters over their lack of support for the county hurlers.

But, Rogan stressed to the County Derry Post that was certainly not the case s he spoke after their Christy Ring Cup win over Wicklow last weekend.

"All credit to our lads but make no mistake about this, people have slated the county board in Derry for a long time about their support of hurling, but I want to state publicly that the county board, and John Keenan in particular, have done everything in their power and within their remit to try and improve us as a hurling squad," said the former Antrim hurler.

"To me, all credit to the county board but all credit to our lads that the county board have recognised this is a serious outfit and they have worked very hard."
