Derry defender Charlie Kielt believes his form has improved this year.

Last year, Kielt was based in Glasgow where he was working as a dentist and he travelled over and back to line out with Derry.

And by his own admission, his form was not what it could have been. However, he is now based in Derry and he admitted to the County Derry Post that it made a huge difference to his form, which was evident during last Sunday's league final win over Westmeath at Croke Park.

"I was away last year in Glasgow and that didn't help me. I'm home now and training three and four nights a week with the county team and it's great," stated Kielt.

"It's great to have a ball in your hands. I didn't realise what my sharpness was until last year, so getting back at it is great. I'm trying to get back at it and get better with every match."
