Paddy Bradley pointed to Derry's tally of 16 wides as the main reason for their defeat to Kerry.

"We started off well, but missed scoring chances and gave them a couple of soft scores," the Glenullin sharpshooter said.

"Five or six of a difference would have been a fair reflection on the first half, but we didn't take our chances and we lived to regret them."

Manager Damian Cassidy, meanwhile, was unhappy with his side's ball-winning ability.

"It was a ball-winning problem. When Kerry got on top, they went through a phase, really for 10 minutes in the second half, where they dominated practically all of the breaking ball which is where we lost the game," he said. Tweet
