Leitrim captain Michael McWeeney has stressed that they are not going to Croke Park just for a day out!

Much has been made about the amount of travelling support that Leitrim will have for a rare trip to Croke Park as they prepare to face Derry in the FL4 final.

McWeeney states in the Leitrim Observer that the supporters can savour the occasion, but added that the players won’t start celebrating unless they have silverware in their hands.

“I think the big thing with these type of games is not to let the occasion get on top of us and we will enjoy it when we win it,” stated McWeeney.

“We’re just going out there to play our normal game and we will savour it when we get the cup. We are going to concentrate on ourselves but at the same time we would be foolish not to take on board any of the blips that happened up in Derry.”
