Lavey are into the last four of the Derry SFC after edging Loup by 2-15 to 1-17 in the first quarter-final replay, played last evening at Owenbeg.
It was a more free flowing game than last Saturday's drawn encounter in Glen which finished, Lavey 2-5, Loup 1-8, and scores were at a premium this time with Niall Toner netting two early goals for the winners to help them to a 2-7 to 1-9 interval lead.
Toner tormented the Loup defence throughout and had a glorious chance to complete his first-half hat-trick from the penalty spot but he blasted the ball over the bar.
Jason Rocks' goal on 18 minutes gave Lavey a 1-3 to 0-5 lead. It was the last time they led as Seamus Downey's team worked up a five point advantage approaching the final quarter - 2-12 to 1-10.
Loup weren't going to throw in the towel that easily, however, and the impressive Caolan Devlin, scorer of 0-7 (four frees), drew the game level with two minutes of normal time remaining - 2-13 to 1-16
Toner and Anthony O'Neill traded points in injury-time before substitute and former county star Cailean O’Boyle fired over the match winning point for Lavey.
Lavey now face Glen in the semi-finals while Ballinascreen await the winners of the second quarter-final replay between Coleraine and Slaughtneil which takes place next Wednesday.
