No team news as far as I am aware, I presume they trained last night, Hope Healy is fit , I would play him at number 8 what you think gardentree (Meath) - Posts: 194 - 26/04/2017 10:34:09 1982791 Link 0 |
no i think number 6 centre back is his spot, but i hope they dont start him if he is in any doubt. better off rest him for westmeath game if he is half injured. i think we can give laois a really good rattle. there will be some party sunday night if we could pull off a win! dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 696 - 26/04/2017 12:20:32 1982837 Link 0 |

No , I heard the manager say in an interview this week was about recovery so they'd hardly play a challenge.

Healy named in the starting lineup. Must be a dummy team. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1362 - 29/04/2017 19:23:00 1983509 Link 9 |

probably better off not to get to the last 8 with a defeat like that against laois?

Laois don't need to beat Kerry unfortunately. The 2 top teams from the qualifying group will be put into a draw, with one of them facing Offaly and one facing Wexford. Laois are already though so it makes no difference to them. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1648 - 30/04/2017 19:16:12 1983657 Link 9 |
Very disappointing result. Lost all the cash I got from the Kerry win. Still think we have the quality to take Westmeath

Harsh lesson for the team that they will hopefully learn from. Some of the mistakes they made will be ruthlessly punished against these teams whereas they would be getting away with them against division 2B sides. Also, I'd like to see our wide count as I thought we hit a shocking number of them as well as dropping a number of efforts short. Missed at least 4 gilt edged goal chances as well that would have put some respectability on the scoreline. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1362 - 30/04/2017 20:01:08 1983666 Link 10 |
Today was a big learning curve. We were very naive in the 1st half. To let a fella score 3-5 from play from midfield in a half is bad enough, but to do it with a sweeper is beyond belief. We missed Healy badly today. We were unable to break through Laois tackles at all they were much physically stronger then us. Having said that we created at least 4 other clear cut goal chances as we had the legs on the Laois backs. Still all to play for in Mullingar in 2 weeks. Hopefully all will learn from today. Sweeper was not need today left to long this way and left Meath wide open. Fitness is another item we were off pace. First touch not good enough at this level. A lot if wasted ball and chances. Physical we were not at the same level. Short puck out we are gaining nothing from them other than trouble.
