I'm not talking about making up rules on the spot - I'm saying have it in the rule book as an option - just like extra time is an option . Before the play-offs start you can stipulate " extra time and penalties if necessary ". Tell me whats wrong with that .

Would have to go through congress to make amendment to playing rules. Club championship rules are part of it.

In the event of a draw after ET let the referee decide which team has the nicer jersey and let that team go through. It would encourage teams to have more fashionable jerseys which would in turn encourage younger players to play for their clubs. Penalties are a lottery but a nice jersey shows effort and planning from the club as a whole and that should be rewarded.

Tell me, what good did the €50k GPS system do this year.

cavanblueman are you 100% positive that €50K was spent on the GPS. Now I am asking you are you 100% sure???"
100% Sean, I was at the meeting when the motion was passed....

Doesn't matter what jersey it is or who goes through....there's only one colour thats gonna win the Senior Championship this year...the team in Blue, unbeaten in league & championship.

When was the last time a team went through the league and championship without being beaten. Would be a massive achievement for the Gaels to win the Senior Championship and remain unbeaten in 2017.

And then go out with a whimper in Ulster.

Its a pretty impressive record this year. In September and unbeaten. Jayo is doing a great job.
In fairness, its the Gales to loose.

Jayo ddefinitely doing a good job to bring them together like he has alright.
But I think a big Ramor performance could topple the Gaels.
I think Cole and Conor Bradley would be the two most reliable forwards on show out of the 12+ between the two sides that can create scores and be clinical against what is likely to be a cagey affair if/when they meet, and I think that gives Ramor the advantage.
The league and c'ship group stages are not important other than to make sure you stumble into the quarter finals with a fit team.
It doesn't really matter as long as you get there..
Different story now from here on in when the pressure is on.. and the Gaels could still have a problem with getting men sent off in big games if the Cootehill game is anything to go by..

I'd have great respect for the Gaels players for what they have achieved down through the years and as a club but it's arrogance like that that turns people against them.
Yes they are the best team on form in the county this year by a mile but let's remember Cootehill put them out of it last year and this year the Gaels struggled to draw with them.
In my opinion the Gaels need a performance in Ulster provided the get through to be classed as a really good side.
Yes Seanie J is going for a record 10 Senior medals a record in itself and a fine achievement if it happens but hey let's show other clubs some respect here , we are only at the quarter final stage.
I'd say your post is actually an embarrassment to genuine Gaels supporters.

Just in relation to your post and been a cootehill man. They had a man sent of after 90 seconds of play so I wouldn't be that hard on them to be fair, and where missing some keys players. Also we played a defensive game against them in stradone, the quarter will tell a alot

Gaels will win the Championship comfortably. No point in kidding ourselves here. Ramor might make the final again but that's about it. I would love to see Killygarry make a county final as they play some great football and have alot of really good players, also a very fit and athletic side. I think they are definitely an up and coming team who will challenge for Senior honours in years to come if they can keep thier panel together.

Exactly league table shows a defeat.

They haven't lost a game of football all year, it'll take one hell of a performance from someone to change that me thinks

I expect the Gaels to win the Championship fairly easily and then bottle Ulster yet again.

Is it really bottling it if your up against better teams most years they were in it? I'm not their biggest fans whatsoever but maybe we just haven't got the club sides in Cavan to really give it a rattle.

Also let's be honest here, any other club bar the Gaels who wins the Senior Championship are fairly happy with just that and probably couldn't give two fiddlers about Ulster. Thier main aim is to win a county title and if anything comes after that it's a bonus, where as the Gaels have probably Ulster I'm their sights since January.

Been in at our game last night v ballinagh it was great to win, but lack of respect cavan county board had for both teams with no flags along sidelines.

Also I don't know how you could pick out any player on both teams that would be county standard. Great that we won but the game really showed how the standard of club football is in cavan.

Was at the replay game last night myself. Was quite an easy win for Cootehill in the end but Ballinagh were no great shakes.
For once I am going to compliment the refereeing in the game. He was superb and completely fair and un-biased which alot of the ref's in this county don't seem to be.
The first game was ruined by John Emo's antics. He was nothing short of disgraceful in that game. The Cootehill lads must have given him some stick before the game for him to go against them as much as he did. It was possibly the worst refereeing I have seen in a long time and no doubt it will go unpunished. Is there a system in place where referees in this county are assessed at all? If so that man should not be let near a football field again.
