What I meant was the gaels were always competitive in ulster and were very unlucky in some games even in 2014 when they should have bet slaughtneill. Can the same be said for Mullahoran and Kingscourt?? They seemed happy with their lot after winning Cavan and suffered some humiliating defeats in recent times. The gaels always gave a good account of themselves representing Cavan in ulster and while they never won it they weren't far away. With Jayo over them they could be well equipped to have a serious go at it. 15 - 20 of there players have represented Cavan at some point in their Career not many clubs in Ulster can say that.

Replying To Cavan_Shambles:  "I was shocked at how poor Ramor were last night. Heard good things about some of their younger players, so I went along for a look. Completely overrun all over the pitch, their full back line will have nightmares about that game, Dunne, Johnston and Graham took them to pieces. Swamped at midfield, one dimensional kick-outs from their goalie, time and time again taking far too long on re-starts and going straight down the middle, it was hard to believe that I was watching the county champions. The only thing that worked for them was having Kevin Mulvany introduced in the second half, he should start for them as they got most of their scores when he was at midfield.

Some of you mentioned Jason Reilly. I'd have to agree, he seems to have very good managerial pedigree so far, and is definitely worth a shot at the county senior job (at some stage) but sadly it looks like were going to be stuck with McGleenan for another year. The Gaels will win the championship easily enough, it looks to be normal service resumed."

Looks like you are not happy to give this man a chance at all if things are the same as they were well then maybe I might agree but he came last November saw no county matches and was depending of what he inherited. Let's see what he brings in next November we will then have an idea what direction we are heading but for god sake let's be fair give him a chance. Do you think Jason or any other manager from Cavan would have made any difference I can tell you NO WAY. If the manager sticks with what we have well we will know before a ball is kicked in the McKenna cup we are going no place.

Kingscourt have got to an Ulster Final I thought. Bailieborough robbed in an Ulster Final.

Never said they weren't. You specifically mentioned Kingscourt. What year were Gaels in final?

I have to say that the Gaels have always disappointed me in Ulster. They won loads of cavan titles over the past 40 years but never made any impact. If they win this year I would like to see them get a run in Ulster.

They have had a few near misses against big Ulster teams but I reckon that winter football doesn't suit them.
The move the ball quick , forwards are light and they haven't no real power when it comes to mixing it in heavy pitches with the likes of slaughtneil , Cross or Kilcoo.
If Jason keeps them playing running football, they stay injury free and more importantly they can hold their discipline well they will win the county championship pulling up.
In Ulster discipline has always been their biggest problem. Trying to mix it with teams twice their size instead for playing the expansive fast football they are capable of.

Talk to people who were at the game, lacken supporters in particular, they'll tell you the reason for that late turn around.

As good an explanation as any but Gaels used to be a physical team. Walsh, Forde, Chesty etc... The Galls game in particular stands out as a wasted opportunity.

They will more than likely win the championship unless someone on the side line does something stupid. Wining Ulster sorry sad thing right now not one of the senior teams are good enough but maybe as there are several matches yet they might get better I don't think so however.

Any reason given why the championship is postponed for a week. It can't be so players can get a break or they wouldn't have league games on instead.
