I read people saying Martin Dunne had left the panel. I am not sure this information is correct for he was in Monday evening I stand corrected but I think he is still very much part of the set up. Neither have I heard of 4 players walking just thought I might mention it. Sean

Just had a look at the allireland semi final from 1997 which we lost to Kerry.
It was a great occasion and when the team ran out on the field I could feel the hair stand on the back of my neck.
Maybe the team and management should take a look at the video, it would make them realise how much it means to Cavan people to succeed.
I know everyone works hard and it is more often than not a thankless task but we gave a very strong Dublin under 21 team the fright of their lives and but for some ludicrous refereeing decisions could have won the game.
We have nothing to fear from Roscommon and we can beat them.
We're building from a strong youth policy and hopefully we can work on from that.

Lads, whats the story with the draw ..? IF we got over the rossies, we would be in round 3 so would we only play the teams in the A section or can we play the B section teams ..? Also is it already mapped out what provincial final loser meets what section winners (if sections are still applicable after round 2/3) ?

Personally I think they have really messed it up (same last year) - it should be an open draw end off cause we had the same thing last year were one side of the draw was handier than the other side ...

Really they should keep the provincial championships and then then they are finished (by the end of june), have a 2 tier system for the all ireland. Div 1 and Div 2 teams play for Sam with teams seeded on where they finished in the league - 4 groups of 4 with the top two into the quarter finals ... it would mean the league actually means something and there are more competitive games, Aoghan are you listening!

It will be an open draw in round 3 for the 4 teams in the A side so Cavan, Kildare, Longford and Fermanagh say, and then the winners of those two games will play the provincial losers from Leinster or Munster in round 4.
In the Quarter finals the A side teams play the provincial winners of Leinster and Munster allowing for the fact that provincial finalists can't meet again here.

Cheers Sean66, that sounds promising. I know ya can't tell much by challenge matches but if we are racking up big scores it would indicate, to me, that we are at least being a bit more attacking.
Any idea on what the line-up was?

Cavan won by 2 points v Tipp. Played a match of 2 periods of 25 mins and a final period of 15mins. Both teams appeared to play their strongest teams in the first 25 min period, Tipp scored 2.10 to Cavans 0.7. Tipp won the second period by 2 pts . Cavan won the last 15 min period by 2 pts.

Was talking to a London player yesterday . The difference between us and Roscommon in his opinion is that Roscomman gave them no time on the ball. So maybe there a lesson there to up the intensity levels

On a sidenote, Im just back from Derry v Donegal, and I'm sickened we didn't get over Monaghan because Donegal looked very average this evening, I certainly wouldn't fear playing them if we had our full 15 available.
