so Killian Clarke, Killian Brady and Ronan Flanagan the only absentees from last year, Replaced by Gearoid McKeirnan,Martin Reilly and Jack Brady. a more attack-minded team on paper. I think it's a very strong team... good luck to them all and I'm sure we will see the maximum number of subs introduced.. hopefully not too late in the game to make an impact.

Have to agree with the above.
Attack minded team.
What's the bench like?

The half-backs and wing forwards won't offer a huge point-scoring threat (Armagh will likley do an old-fashioned number 6 on Mackey), so going to need 4-5 points from the GMK/Givney/McDermott axis to support what Dunne/Keating can deliver. That's very do-able but I'd still worry about midfields ability to last the 70 mins (GMac especially)- Argue's impact off the bench could be crucial.
Another afternoon of counter-punching awaits.

Come 4 O'Clock Sunday that 15 named will not be the correct 15 that start. I reckon Hayes will come into the backs with Damien Reilly pushing to midfield and Givney to the forwards and Mackey from the bench (2 training sessions in 6 weeks). Gearoid and Givney will never be together in the middle.

I cant see it been the starting team, there will be at least 2 changes come Sunday, I do hope if players aren't playing well they don't wait till the last minute to make changes, it will be interesting to see how J Brady does, Hyland seems to have a lot of faith in him, hopefully he is right . I would expect Armagh to play a style of football like our own , defencely minded ,doubling up on Keating, stopping the supply to Dunne who does find it hard to win his own possession, it will be a low scoring game so hopefully the lads are on target come Sunday.. #Future is blue

Fergal Flanagan at corner back? I seen we've played him there a few times in the league, perhaps he's gonna be on Clarke? Very harsh on Hayes who I thought had an excellent league campaign not to make the starting xv. Anyway, time for speculation is over, we've a job to do Sunday lads, and by we I mean the fans. Roar the lads on.

Some surprise omissions and inclusions, but overall a strong team that should be well prepared and committed. I hope this is the actual 15 that starts though. It's very disrespectful to all, especially supporters, to read a program and find that the starting 15 regularly change prior to the throw-in. We seem to be the worst offenders at this. All the best to the lads on Sunday, tuas maith = leath na h'oibre!

Very little being said about this game which I find surprising as along with the Kildare-Louth match, it's the most interesting fixture of the weekend. Armagh have a lot of changes from last year and despite their demotion from Div 2, are not a bad outfit. Cavan have been developing nicely but still haven't found the balance between attack and defence. Expect a hard close battle between these two, hope Cavan win. How do ye Breffni boys and girls feel about it?

Armagh played Westmeath in a challenge in Mullingar
recently. They were ahead by 16 points at one stage and made 6 changes in the game and won by 3 .
So it will be tough going for us.
Terry aw at the game I hear.

A few thoughts on Sunday

-It will be harsh on Joshua Hayes if he isn't involved on Sunday.
-I assume Mackey and Dunne are named to start and are being allowed to prove themselves fit before Sunday, if they aren't then they will drop to the bench with presumably Hayes and either Argue or Maloney Dernham to come in.
-Once again, Jamie Clarke must be doubled up on every time he gets a sniff of the ball. We say what he did last year and had his goal stood (as it would this year) the result could have been different.
-Armagh have chosen a big physical team, I can see them trying to do what Monaghan did to us: Go toe to toe in a war of attrition and count on taking more of their chances up front.
-We need to see more from Keating and Jack Brady than we did in the League, and management need to be more willing to change personnel up front earlier.
-We got hammered at midfield last year, with Givney, Gearoid and Argue all available this year we should be aiming to dominate.
-Some Cavan people seem to see this as a game we should be winning because we won it last year. This is a very different Armagh side with just 6 of last year's starting team. They are playing at home, hurting from League relegation and out for revenge for last year. The Bookies have them favourites and we all know they're never too far wrong. This game is winnable but it will take an immense effort, our lads are up to it though. Best of luck to them.

Cant't see Flanagan starting on Clarke. Jason McLoughlin kept him scoreless last year so I would be shocked if he is not picking him up again.

Think Keating has to show up big time tomorrow. We seen what happened in Croker when he was off form. Armagh will hit Dunne hard early on and he may go into hiding for the game. Brady, McDermott and the midfield will have to contribute on the scoreboard tomorrow to have any chance

Best of luck to the lads tomorrow. A draw is quite likely I believe. It's a disgust to see RTE Sports news not even mention the Ulster Quarter-Final last night. What planet do they live on? Hopefully by 6pm tomorrow they'll have heard about it.

Really excited bout tomorrow! Best of luck to all the team and Management! Armagh going t be gunning for revenge, and I hope we start well from the start. By my reckoning, Jason Mcgloughlin has not started game since Kerry in Croker, and just hope he is ready! Super player last year, and hope management makes changes if needed! An Cabhan abú!

Well the big day has finally arrived. Very damp here in Dublin but hopefully the Sun will be shining in Armagh.
I really think we will show the benefit of last years run and promotion in the League. These lads will have gained in confidence and experience as well. It really is a settled team now and that can only benefit us heading into Ulster. Also all our U21's of the last 5 years will be starting to reach their maturity and with the other young lads coming up behind I can only see good days ahead for my beloved Breffni.
Great to see David Givney back with Gearoid at midfield and we should be able to win ball around the middle for a change.
Jason Mc Louglin wont let the defence down and if back to his best he is another super player. Yes Killian is a loss but we now have replacements. On League form Josh Hayes is very unlucky not to start but a brilliant option from the bench.
Lets hope our forwards have a good day. On League form Keating and Dunne were very patchy but I feel they are top-of-the-ground players and will come good.
Expecting a huge Cavan crowd up there there today now that we have a team to be proud of.
W'er getting on the road early, so best of luck to Terry and all the lads.
Cavan Abu.

Great post BreffniDub!

Best of luck to Terry and the lads today, I've been counting the days to this one. Last year we signaled to the rest of the country that Cavan football had come alive again, and today is all about continuing that progress. I believe we have the players to win it, I have no doubt Big Gearoid will be keen to get onto that field for his first championship game in two years. Yes, we have injuries and other issues, but we also have a panel that is capable of dealing with the loss of anyone, and today we will have to show that.

An Cabhán Abú!

Not in the country at the minute, anyone know if the game can be streamed on Armagh TV or anywhere similar?
