did you watch Killeshandra last season right up to and including the final. Declan McKiernan put frees over from 65 meters yes 65 meters. He was player of the season for me by a huge margin. So saying players cannot put over from 30 meters is not correct. I bet Peter Reilly the U21 manager could still bang them over from that distance. I watched him in Breffni Park taking them for fun and he missed none from at least 15 shots all between the 45 meter stand side shooting to the goal at the electronic end left foot.

from the ground 40 meters outwards I don't think so. Good short free taker no question about that when on song

So you don't like people speaking out about McKiernan's performances but you can be critical of McDermott?

Declan McKiernan got his chance against Fermanagh when he came on last year. He had to be taken back off.

I am not critical of N.McDermott bit confused here he is a fine free taker but I rate Declan a better long distance free taker for he proved it last season.
Being substituted after being brought because he made two decisions and someone did not like them and taken off. Come on this topic is not about county players its about free takers.
Tell you one thing breffniguide you have not got a clue and what you don't realise Declan McKiernan has shown his character by hanging in there when others walked for less.

My opinion for a person to enter the above competition Declan should put his name forward for sure. My opinion remember. P.S will you show me where I did not like anyones post on this topic ?????

Dec McK is a fine club player and good free taker.he scored some great frees against Sherlock in the IFC final last year.doesn't take them off the ground though.he's a good squad player for the seniors but he's been off the pace when he gets the chance, not enough mobility for the middle of the field.i think Niall McD,jack Brady or enda reilly are the best free takers in the county

Your post straight away when someone commented about Declan's ability shows you don't like the post. People are tired of your agendas on here Sean. Even last season you were bleating on about Dec McKiernan. You say someone didn't like two decisions he made and took him off. Why don't you just name the person? You also say Dec should could have walked away. Another veiled sentence. Why not just say what you want to? We're not coming here to read riddles.

McKiernan has had plenty of opportunities in the league. He also got a chance against Fermanagh. Compare that to how young Argue took his chance in his debut against a Division 1 side. One had the mettle to grab their chance. The other didn't.

You seem to think that by bigging up a player that Terry won't play it will create criticism of Terry. You're like Dunphy with Andy Reid.

You are pathetic I don't give a rat's a---if Mr Hyland reads my posts or not. I am not trying to hype up any player if I wanted to do this I would have started years ago. I take it my opinion has upset you and to be honest with you I don't give a s**t.

You haven't upset me Sean. I've answered your post. You're the one who appears to be getting upset and resorting to expletives. How about you answer the points I have raised rather than resorting to foul language and insults.

You asked questions only management can answer. If you were at the particular match you could have seen for yourself who was agitated if you were not blind.

There is no agenda fellas my post was that I thought Declan should give it a crack plain and simple and its turned into me having an agenda with county management which I don't . Remember its just my opinion and that should be the end of it. Any player can enter it so whats everyones gripe to3wards me its not restricted to inter county players.

What questions did I ask that only management can answer? I say what I mean Sean. If I want to use someone's name I say it. I don't talk in riddles like you assuming people will guess who you are talking about. Who is the free taker Cavan carried for years in the 90s then? Why not just say a name.

It's clear you have an agenda. Everyone can see it. You talk so highly of Val, who I have to admit I also respect for the work he started, but you fail to give Terry the credit he deserves for his stellar work.

Well isn't it ironic that you call yourself breffniguide and I believe I am the only person here that has the b***s to use my own name.
Why you bring up Val Andrews baffles me and you confront me me about Mr Hyland ? the line is drawn on this issue and I will not lick up to anyone.
Mr Hyland and I have a cordial relationship and that includes his backroom team.
I reserve the rights as an individual and a supporter to keep my opinion on Val Andrews and Mr Hyland to myself.

I have been asked several time to explain posts I have made but hoganstand will not post them. If you wish to chat with me you know where to find me.

Sean how do you rate Terry Hyland as Cavan Senior team manager compared to managers we have had the last 15 years?

Well that is a fair question but I can only rate him from when he became a stand alone manager of the U21 team and then as the stand alone manager of the senior team it's not a difficult question at all. With the support of his back up team he along with them are doing an excellent job. Anyone that would criticise him right now would be a total idiot. We will be playing in division two next year thats all I wanted so anything else this year is a plus its that simple.

Sean , Dec McKiernan deserved to be taken off against Fermanagh, never got into the game , kicking ball away and being dispossed in possession. Fermanagh were coming back into the game so Cavan couldn't afford to be making easy mistakes. Mckiernan has ability, but not sure if its enough for Co Senior, but who knows..

Yes you are right and Declan would agree with you . I have not said that he should not. Respect. He made two bad mistakes nothing came from them so did not loose the match and were in the half forward area so not life threatening but thats for another day. nothing to do with my first post in this topic.

In all honesty, who the hell would have anything to do with any county team when you see the rubbish being discussed on these forums.
What started as a discussion on free taking has turned into a slagging match with fellas being discussed about their performance and questions being raised on their performances by people who, many of them I'm sure have never or are not playing at a decent standard.
All the best referees are on the side line and it looks like all the experts are on this website forums.
These people give up their time, put their lives on hold to represent our county and clubs and provide entertainment.
They and their management deserve praise and thanks, not redicule. Any player who takes to the field at either club or county level deserves respect.
If I was at a standard where I was eligible to play county I'd seriously consider if the abuse was worth it.
Cop yer seleves on lads.

Have I said he should not have been taken off NO is the topic about him being an inter county player NO Is the topic about Val Andrews and Mr Hyland NO I mentioned Declan in relation to the first post and I believe if he sees this that he should give it a shot. I hope he does not read the rest of topic that has sod all to do with my first post. I have watched lots of players over the years most never had a chance or were not interested so if you have a panel of players who are willing too or have the time to give the commitment well its the way forward but thats for another topic.
