Does it really matter what time it's at...?????? A pointless exercise unless we go on an win the All Ireland which I'm pretty sure we won't ...

Off course it matters if people think it's Saturday it would be a wasted journey.
The minor match is on Saturday Cavan V Down good luck to the Cavan lad's.

Ours is not the only match at 6.30 pm on Sunday.
Armagh v Fermanagh is at the same time in the Athletic grounds.
It should suit me anyway.

Is it a pointless exercise for the team and management to gain experience for. Next year?

Ok you won't be attending any furthet games that they might play in this year's championship? Including if they somehow go on a run and end up in the last 12 and a trip to Croke park or something similar? Was Tipps run to the semi final pointless?

I can't understand the mentality in this county , what's pointless about playing more championship games gaining experience especially with a new manager to intercouny football.

Some of the nonsense on here is hard to fathom!!

Why bother playing back door? Who can ask that in all seriousness. I am 100% sure that the people who are posting things like that have very little else going on in their life! I am not alone in saying that I am a Cavan fan. I grew up as one since I was 3 years old and I rarely miss a game. The reason is that I love going to games and supporting my team. We have no divine right to win All Ireland's but I live in hope that it will happen again in my lifetime. People posting rubbish on here about 'Why bother' need to ask themselves - Why bother posting on this forum? You don't care much for Cavan football so go off and find something you do care about and channel your energy into that.

I will listen to criticism from real fans and people that care but some of the nonsense on here is destroying this forum.

We might not win Ulster next year is there any point entering the competition?

Blueman...the point I am making is that these backdooor games are a waste of time and finances for the weaker Counties who have no hope what so ever of winning an All Ireland...and that includes us at the moment... An Ulster title is our only hope of breaking into the big time and that doesn't include getting to An Ireland QF... With the back door draw we have we should at the very least get to the round before the QF but at the end of the day what real difference will it make..... When we go out of Ulster our season is over...Simple..

So you won't be attending the games from now on?

Sean.66, that is your opinion; however, I would disagree. Correct me if I am wrong but did Tyrone not win an All-Ireland one year through the back door. Also, you could argue the championship format is old school at this stage. The qualifiers should be played across two-legs in my view or some similar format to mix things up. What viewing was there for supporters on Sunday because Donegal never turned up.

The Cavan team should embrace this challenge and see where it takes them. They are not a bad side, the manager needs to get a consistent team on paper though if they are to go anywhere.

Team that should play offaly:
Galligan
F.Reilly R.Dunne K.Clarke
Moynagh Faukner C.Brady
Buchann T.Galligan
Mackey G.McKiernan G.Smith
C.O.Reilly J.Dillon McVitty

Well thats my opinion who i would start ,with Strenght up the middle and speed on the wings.

I would agree with most of what you say....but Tyrone winning through the back door ( as Kerry did ) only emphasises my point that the back door only helps the stronger teams...

I like the look of that team.

Only issue is fitness concerns around some players.

Point taken, lets be positive and hope Cavan are settling into one of the stronger teams. I work with men from two or three different counties and none of them want to draw Cavan
