Replying To Paddyfla19:  "Good result. If we win on Sunday we will get promoted, it leaves us with longford who in fairness are not bad but very beatable and Offaly who wouldn't get a point in division 4 they are gone back so far. Mick got the performances stop on from yesterday's game."
Cant see us beating Fermanagh let alone Longford

Leinster Football Final. What would be a good outcome? - 1 Like(s)
The manager seems like a good man and is probably a bit too honest for his own good

Westmeath v Kildare - 1 Like(s)

Replying To Chops:  "If we win its another Leinster final and a heavy defeat. I don't think we'll win in fact Kildare will have 5-8 points to spare. So that is why I reckon there is very little discussion on this."
If that's so that is a very defeatist attitude.....

A brilliant start to the Senior Hurling Championship - 1 Like(s)

Replying To jobber:  "Two more good tight games Sunday. Delvin and Brownstown was great entertainment.Raharney just got the better of Clonkill Joey Boyle scoring 2-5.Another big crowd. Clonkill The Gaels and Pollard now with one point after two games. There is definitely more interest in this years championship."
the only interest is that hurling is over now for a while ,let the football commence

Moorefield v St Loman's - 1 Like(s)

Replying To KildareKelly:  "I didn't think Moorefield would win Kildare & even after that, I didn't think they would go far in Leinster so to more or less guarantee a victory for a Kildare team I'm going to go for an easy win for Lomans !"
Luke Dempsey knows Moorefield well, the lomans forward line will just have too much for Moorefield I feel, heslin ,dempsey and ken casey as strong as any club full forward line in ireland...Lomans to edge it for me

Replying To Chops:  "Seriously lads, were some of you looking at a different game?? Heslin was regularly isolated up front, with Martin, McCormack and Sharry regularly in our half back line. We attempted to be semi defensive and counter attack Dublin but it failed for a number of reasons. 1) Quinn persisted on hoofing hail marys down the middle even when it was clear we were getting no change out of it. I think in first half there was 17 or 18 of our own kick outs and we won 1. Now it doesn't take a genius to correct that. 2) Dublin half backs comfortably kicked ball into their forwards and instead of our backs going toe to toe with the forwards they stood off allowing them to win the ball. They then attempted half heartedly to tackle the forwards. I said it before lads, we have no great tackling defenders and this has needed fixing for a long time. 3) Respect, we gave too much of it yesterday standing off, not putting in big hits and hard tackles. I personally don't think we are as far behind as the scoreline suggests but I do feel Cribben has brought us as far as he can. If I was a member of the football board I'd be calling an extraordinary meeting now and organising someone like Anthony Cunningham who has knowledge of our championships with help from the likes of Jack Cooney, John Keane and Dessie Dolan to replace Cribben as soon as we exit the championship."
Seriously you honestly think Jack cooney,John keane would do better, give it a rest Both are even more defensive than cribben and have literally no success at management level. The fact is you all called for them to open up and try to attack and thats what they did,I believe this came from the players so surely most of the blame should rest with them,it's totally up to to the players to get it together now,not feel sorry for themselves and give armagh a good rattle

I agree that it was not easy on the eye,but I went down pitchside near the end of the game and the conditions for shooting/kicking were just appaling so anyone with half a brain would limit the use of the foot pass.Tom cribbin got it spot on we went down to o connor park and came away still in the championship, what do people want ,it will be a different game next weekend,we are on a long unbeaten run,we have a lot of very impatient people here who know very little about the modern game of football, kick it in you say......fools,offaly were playing defensive football also and dropped an extra man back, they negated our best players and all credit to them for that, but in my opinion offaly had their chance and didn't take it,we all know very clearly westmeath will not play as badly again and the weather looks good for saturday so can everyone get out support the boys and lets get the job done.....

I think it's time to lay off the management and players ,what happened happened, the money aig are pumping into dublin westmeath wouldn't see in 10years,dublin have something like 50 coaches for schools level we have maybe 2/3.Dublin players are given time off work to train,70k people to 1.5M doesn't compute....we were never going to win.You can't blame the management if the team panics and collapses we have all been there at some point

Replying To mickcunningham:  "tom cribben should go but im not so sure he will . the players are so tied in a negative frame of mind that they looked scared on saturday evening . i know that i have had to defend dennis glennon on this forum and i find it ironic to see people posting that dennis should have been on . he not only should have been on but a leading part of the team . his experience alone would have been crucial . tom cribben and his management have ignored him and young shane dempsey . im sure that when the club championship gets going that players like glennon and dempsey will be leading lights for their clubs . i would ask the board to now look inside the county at either jack cooney or john keane and let our players play football my last post for this year regarding the county team"
Mick I don't know what your knowledge of westmeath football is but if you think cribben plays defensive football, why are you calling for keane or cooney, they are both un proven and are even more defensive that cribbin.
