There were six games in the Ulster and Connacht U20 Football Championships last night.

In the Ulster U20FC, a late Gavin Porter point handed Tyrone a dramatic 0-13 to 1-9 victory over Derry at Celtic Park. Darragh Mee scored the only goal as Monaghan edged out Down by 1-12 to 0-13 in Newry, while first half goals from Gareth Murphy and Pierce Blessing proved decisive in a 2-9 to 2-7 win for Armagh over Cavan at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.

The only one-sided affair was in Ballybofey where Donegal maintained the unbeaten run with a 1-13 to 0-5 victory over Fermanagh. Paddy McElwee led the way with 1-3 for Shaun Paul Barrett's side.

In the Connacht U20FC, goals from Ronan Colleran and Darragh Costello helped Galway to a 2-4 to 0-9 half-time lead over Mayo at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park. But the hosts scored seven unanswered points down the home stretch per Darragh Reilly, Finbar McLaughlin, Niall Hurley, Darragh Beirne, Oisín Cronin, Tom Lydon and Diarmuid Duffy to prevail on a 0-16 to 2-6 scoreline.

Holders Sligo were held to 0-9 each draw by Roscommon at Markievicz Park. With Ross Doherty and Rossa Sloyan to the fore, the home side led 0-6 to 0-2 at the break, but the Rossies fought back to earn a share of the spoils thanks to a late Bobby Nugent free.
