I too have been listening to Off The Ball the way that coach behaved flies in the face of any kind of advice that a coach should follow. If a coach hurls abuse in a one and one conversation they are NOT fit to be a coach its not allowed in the work place, in school on our streets, just because its a sports arena doesn't make it right. The fact he spoke alone to these players speaks volumes he ignored his own player liaison officer, he abused his capt he lost the plot and now half the dressing room. The chap had a player liaison officer right? a great choice that turned out to be. Some players who were selected have backed the players, they are not all from one club yet one club was targeted illegally by the county board and they had to back track on that one. They made a balls of the mediation, I would imagine the county board is only too happy to put the boot into the only club targeted. Imagine if that happened in Dublin? No it wouldn't because it couldn't happen players as players are treated with dignity and respect, There is no nice way to drop players but there is a respectful way. I would wager the current management won't be around next year."

Replying To arock:  ""honestly don't know what happened ". How about almost half the panel since it is such a critical part of your argument. Eh why did the county board punish one club and not the other? How come the team had a player liaison officer yet this officer had zero input by management and by the players? Players have a fundamental right to walk away if they wish for whatever reason they choose. If this was the work place the management would be sacked that is why I back the girls. The girls who chose to remain are not part of the conversation as they are playing, have no issues so why would they be a part of the conversation? People involved in the GAA seem to feel natural justice, fairness and the rule of law do not apply. This will be resolved in the courts."

Replying To browncows:  "It is a amateur game and of course the 8 players are entitled to withdraw from a panel at any time. Why should their club suffer?-very strange to suspend the club. I did not know there was such a rule within the ladies game. If half the team has a problem with the manager, then the manager has a problem and he should be prepared to do the decent thing."

Replying To catch22:  "I never said nobody was interested just not all these mystery men that seem to have disappeared. You saying "I'm sure plenty were interested " is just daft and based on what ? If they all dropped off that easily , well jays , they're probably no loss then are they , whoever they are."

Replying To Gleebo:  "I agree that the statement put out by the ladies who withdrew seems a little bit watery (short of accompanying detail that we're not privy to). However, there are some inaccuracies being sprouted by some on this thread. Firstly, not all of the players who left come from Carnacon, four of them (including former captain Sarah Tierney) come from other clubs. So it's not just a case of Carnacon players throwing one out of the pram. Secondly, it was the LGFA clubs in Mayo who voted to censure Carnacon. Could this possibly be because Carnacon have won every county championship since the year 2000, running up huge scores in the process? Is it possible that the 26 delegates who voted for their expulsion saw an opportunity for their own clubs? Why weren't the other players/clubs involved subjected to the same sanction? And is it right to punish 30 odd club footballers for the actions of 8 that were on the county panel? Seems to me that there's a lot of blame to go round here, and it's not all on the players who left."

Replying To The_DOC:  "Do you seriously think the Mayo team this year...having just about stayed up in the Championship, and who admitted before the Galway game that this was the game they were targeting from the outset of the year....THEN when and decided to peak for August once in the qualifiers?"

Replying To The_Fridge:  "Only teams? I think mayo are as far away as ever to be fair. Beat by a Kildare team who were relegated on zero points and destroyed in super 8's. And beat by Galway again. Ageing team. Stayed up by the skin of their teeth. I think the pecking order is Dublin, Tyrone, Kerry, Galway, Monaghan, mayo. I think mayo need to take a step back and try to win a Connaught title before thinking of an all Ireland. If Horan comes in they have a chance. Great manager."

Replying To catch22:  "Sure Jack O Connor didn't want the bloody job. Kevin Mc Stay didn't want it either. Both experienced top managers. You basically had the two lads and that's the bottom line. Stop the oul scutter about all these fellas that were mad for the Mayo job. You say there not too many top managers out there , sure ye got rid of the one ye had."
