Derry got their Christy Ring Cup campaign off to a winning start this afternoon by seeing off Wicklow on a 0-17 to 0-12 scoreline in Aughrim.
The Oak Leafers dominated large portions of the first-half to build up a 0-10 to 0-4 lead by the break, with midfielder Cormac O’Doherty leading the way for them in the scoring stakes.
The hosts would show improvement after the change of ends but weren’t going to deny their Ulster opponents here as O’Doherty kept the scoreboard ticking over for them before Darragh McGilligan rounded off their tally.

In Dungannon, London finished convincing 2-23 to 2-12 winners over Tyrone to put two early points on the board in the Christy Ring Cup race.
Ronan Crowley and Owen Sheil netted the goals for the Exiles as they had a commanding 2-12 to 0-9 lead amassed by the 47th minute, which left late majors from Sean Duffin and Aidy Kelly proving only consolation for the Red Hands.
