Replying To Stool Pigeon:  "It will be interesting to see the team Antrim field as while victory over us would be nice, should they lose, even narrowly, a result against Carlow is essential (assuming Wexford beat Carlow of course) or they will be relegated

You'd imagine anyone who is touch and go won't be risked v Galway if there is a chance they won't play against Carlow the following week"
Depends how ambitious they are. Next weekend is must win if they want to make the AI series.

A number of injuries to key forwards mean we have a much changed side for the u20 semi final against Dublin tomorrow night. No Aaron Niland, Darren Shaughnessy or Micheal Power. Dylan Dunne also drops out. I think we are up against it tomorrow night. Regardless of going through, we would need these lads back for any final.

Anyone know when the draws for the Galway Junior Hurling Championships will be made?
They are due to commence weekend of 29th/30th June but no word on groups yet which is strange.

I'm glad I'm not a betting man as I don't have a clue as to what will happen. It's quite possible that both Galway and Kilkenny will NOT be in the Leinster Final.

Good luck to the U20's tonight

We are obviously a bit lighter upfront given absences but of course it gives others an opportunity to show what they can do

There could be long senior careers in the pipeline for those coming through now, let's hope we see a few of them grab the nettle.
Hoping for a good display from Davoren tonight as I feel on form he could really add something in the middle third, we are badly missing a player like that atm

Hopefully we can get through tonight although the injuries make it very difficult. At least for Aaron Niland he is underage again next year but for the other two it's their last year at u20. Would be good to get to a final even if we would be under strength going into it. Think we need Rory Burke and Sean Murphy to dominate if we are going to win.

Kilkenny have no one but themselves to blame if they lose to Offaly given they don't know the rules that mean Killian Doyle can't play.

Hopefully they go well. With the injuries I would have expected Rory Burke to go up the field and O'Donovan or O'Connor to come into the halfback line. Both good starters for the club at that line, but the management know best

I'll be heading to Laois this evening and to Kilcormac at the weekend, hoping for 2 wins!

God forbid we'd ever develop coaching standards in this county.
Develop a few systems to play, how to play them effectively and coach people to those standards.

Same drivel we're at senior... No semblance of a plan of what we are trying to do.
You need to defend in numbers and attack in numbers, make it look like you have extra players all over the pitch.
Cut open within 20seconds and 3 other clear goal chances with numerous tap over points while we're launching nonsense ball into outnumbered players hoping someone can grab a low percentage ball.

Galway hurling facing into a bleak future. U20's bet up a stick by Dublin.

Went pretty much as we all said once the injuries were known. Niland, Shaughnessy and Power were all huge losses as we couldn't make ball stick in the forwards. Even not having Trayers fit to play much of a role was massive. Offaly should win it from there but I'd say the all ireland is winner is in Munster in either Cork or Tipp.

Disappointing end but I suppose it's next years u20 group that would have been forecast to be a lot stronger than this years squad anyway. Onwards to the minor on Saturday.

He couldn't play. Lyng didn't know the rule that a player can't play senior and u20 as a Liam McCarthy county within seven days. Cost them a Leinster title I think. It wasn't anything to do with a suspension. Lyng was about to bring on Gearoid Dunne against Carlow as well until someone informed them of the rule.

True Barney enjoy it and thanks for being so gracious as always - Dublin for the U20 and senior AI hurling double! lol

Congrats Dublin.

If we had the players we had the same players we had five weeks ago when we hammered the bejesus of ye things would of been different.

Regards,

Galway.

Hope you find that sufficient.

They were under 18, a lot of them apparently. Definitely looked to be at some sort of serious disadvantage on the night. They might look better in a year or two, but I certainly wouldn't be expectant about that group of players, based on the admittedly very few times that I've seen them.

Dublin came with a clear plan and exploited glaring weaknesses in our setup and structure, and truth be told, wasted a lot of chances and probably should have won by 20 points. They played really well but were assisted in plenty of ways by our setup and bewildering approach.

I would fancy them to beat Offaly but I would think it unlikely they would have enough to beat a forewarned Cork or Clare, but you'd never know, of course.
