Replying To Pope_Benedict:  "Nonsense. They've haven't lost to Kk in this round robin format since it's inception, and would arguably have been more competitive in certain Leinster Finals too, if the Wexford lad hadn't been refereeing them."
Round robin aint knockout thats where the differencr is.Cant blame a wexford referee for everything thats what have ye where ye are.

Did Galway not beat Kilkenny down in nowlan park in 2019 without canning and Conor cooney who was a top level ic forward then.

Replying To SamandLiamSoon:  "Jesus lad all you're doing at this stage is throwing s**t at the wall hoping some will stick. TJ started the year first choice full back had a stellar Fitzgibbon campaign but got destroyed against Tipp and was whipped after 25 mins. Fintan has gone toe to toe with Gillane (subbed off) and did well against Reid.

Jamie Ryan's cameo against Limerick would surely of put him in your "must try better category"

Tuhoy was very poor against Carlow. Bringing the ball into traffic and getting turned over so I'm not sure how he gets onto the "can't live without category"

These players you mention (and it's a lot at this stage) are not silver bullets that will magically fix our woes."
Noone is saying those players mentioned are "silver bullets" but they have speed / skill and would at least have been able to keep up / track back their opponents which was sadly absent in the middle third last Sunday. You mention Tuohy was poor against Carlow - Cyril Farrell thought he played very well (scoring a good point in the process) and Cyril knows his hurling like its "nuts to a monkey!" Also I saw Linnane soloing into cul de sacs and getting turned over a few times last Sunday - David Burke and Glennon hardly did anything of note (most notably tackling their men / tracking back) and none of those 3 even scored but you may have missed all that!

Thought Sunday was a poor enough showing if truth be told. A loss and it would have been disastrous. So even at our strongest and them not at theirs we can't beat them!

Why would a Wexford lad be doing any favours for Kilkenny? Also you got a point given that was a foot wide at the weekend, so really you lost that game, whatever the official score.

Haven't lost to Wexford since 1996 anyway, so we must have been picking from a full deck everytime we knocked ye off since. 28 years ago.

We havent beaten you in championship since 96 and need to somehow pull off a win Saturday to stay in this championship!

You actually never beat us in a Championship hurling game in the first 125 years of the GAA. Think your 1st ever win against us in intercounty Championship hurling was in the 20 teens. You are going to have to stay beating us long after we are both dead to match that record.

I wouldn't worry about lazy media analysis. A lot of past players with big reps get paid for cliché's and it has long been the way in hurling and football.

I saw things in Galway on Sunday that have been missing for a while. We tried to use the inside forward line, we were a goal threat, by and large we stopped taking hero shots, when the game was going against us we fought hard to limit the damage and stayed in the game, scrapped really hard to get a draw. Some lads were not playing well but worked themselves into the game and kept at it.... e.g. Whelan was having a poor enough game but kept going and came up trumps in the end.

I am more optimistic now than before the game. Not sure if we can topple Limerick but I wouldn't be afraid of anyone else.

Admire your optimisum but dont share it dont think ye will be a big threat if ye get out of the round robin that is too many slow players need more pace to trouble any of the top teams like clare or limerick.

I can't see much of a crowd travelling down to Wexford to be honest. Game is massive for Wexford to stay alive but not as much for us with Antrim and Dublin to come where it would be a major surprise not to get four points there. Great if we win as would pretty much wrap up the Leinster final spot but in six or eight weeks time you wouldn't want to be judging yourself off how you played against Wexford.

Hopefully John Cooney and Donal O'Shea get a start along with Adrian Touhey.

Yes correct and we need a big improvement / win too as Dublin can be a bogey team for us and yourselves also it appears!

I expect an angry Wexford team tbh. After their last two matches they will be like hungry lions. Not a great time to go into the lions den. Hon Galway!

Very true - all these Wexford posters on here trying to run down Galway after their humiliations against Antrim last weekend and Westmeath last year. You really couldn't make this stuff up! lol

Ara come on how often did Galway and Wexford actually meet in those "ancient history" times? I am only concerned with the Leinster championship since Galway entered it in 2009 and Wexford have not beaten Galway during all that time! lol

True - it will be very difficult but Wexford posters and others are saying that Galway did not play well last Sunday but still got a draw so I would expect Galway to improve a lot from the last day which may get us over the line.

By comparing the previous provincial knockout system to the present one, warts and all, you're clutching at the straws of history! Beating a Connacht hurling team or an Ulster hurling team, both gaelic football provinces, in knockout championship is not much to brag about tbh. The provincial system is not a fair one, never was and never could be in either code, but the powers that be were not interested in fairness. The Leinster hurling championship during Cody's reign was a joke and the Leinster Football championship is now a joke but the biggest joke is the GAA and its stuck in the mud provincial mentality.
