As much as I hate them (in a sports way I don't hate anyone) I'll defo miss them in a weird way."
Yeah but we aren't giving up football....as much as many on this forum would like to see us fall of a cliff into obserurity we will be back at some stage.

Why do the Dubs hate Mayo so much?

Well Kildare and Meath are no good anymore and Kerry have gone missing so you've all we got left plus the O Conor bros Aidan O Shea Colm Boyle Lee Keegan etc are very unlikeable , Andy Moran is sound but maybe that's because he's from Roscommon.

We'll soon be universally loved now that we are no longer a threat to the Dubs or anybody else. I can't understand how anyone can dislike the O Connors, two well mannered, inoffensive and articulate young school teachers. Aido is just a big cuddly teddy bear, Boyler is misunderstood and Lee is, well, Lee. Of course, as you say, Andy is rightly much loved especially in his native Roscommon.

I see the Rossies have a full deck to pick from for next Sunday. On us local reports have it that Damien Comer, Sean Kelly Peter Cooke, Ciaran Duggan and Declan Kyne (will not make the matchday squad for Sunday) although Paul Conroy might make the 26 to be named. Now though a doubt over Fiontain O'Curraoin who was just coming into form after a long layoff so we have 3 midfielder options out so not sure who will partner Tom Flynn. Injuries a never ending issue with us but hopefully the overall better depth we have than 3/4 yrs ago compensates somewhat.

We've been plagued by injuries for years and a huge turnover in player availability due to emigration and other factors. We come into this game with a few injuries too. So hopefully for us we can get over the line on Sunday but it will be a tough ask. All on the day for this one. Hope the rain and wind stays away

Oh I agree. Even if we had a full deck I would still see this as 50/50 given ye are stronger overall than the last 3 provincial finals. Our depth has improved injuries aside which will be one of KW credits when he vacates the position. If we get a better balance and be a bit more adventurous all well and good bit may leave us vulnerable at the back. Weather aside at least we have one of the top 6 rated pitches in the country. A carpet these days since the great work 4 yrs ago.

Oh how i would love that to be case. If you haven't heard already we have lost one of our best and most important players Ultan Harney for the rest of the season and another 3 players that played v Mayo,Leitrim that are doubtful for Sunday.

With the big player turnover from last year we were never going to a full deck to pick from.

Hey all, over in Villanova Park near Balcelona. Any advice on a public house that would show the game on Sunday.

All I will say is read my response to you on the Galway forum. Pretty balanced I would think.

Every team in the country has injuries to deal with.. it's part of the game. Ultan is a big loss to us but Galway are missing Comer.. if we lose on Sunday it's because we weren't good enough and that's it. Forget injuries and players not playing for whatever reasons. We have a strong panel full of talent and that's it. I see it been a very physical game and I just fell Galway will win it by a couple of points. I really hope I'm wrong. Murtagh is due a big performance so you never know.

They do but not every team loses such important player a week before a final. I know Kevin Walsh said Comer won't be playing Sunday but will it surprise anyone if he does play?

Galway only played well for one half last year to win the final, Roscommon on the other hand will need to be at their best all game Sunday and a lot to go right for them on the day to pull off another upset win in Connacht this year and losing Harney is not a good start. Murtagh due to injury has played little football for Roscommon this year if he's up to speed for this match on Sunday he will be able to cause problems to Galway's defence.

I hope its a good quality game. On paper it looks to be the most competitive of the 4 provincial finals but sometimes the wind in Salthill can ruin a contest.
