We could have really used them Corofin lads against Tyrone today. Sigh. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 2129 - 24/03/2019 18:15:38 2174828 Link 1 |
Mayo win more games in Croke Park than we loose...Galway won their first championship game in Croker last year in 18 years so I don't know how you manage to see the similarity's... Did Galway beat ye last year in Croke Park? Finals are where we have a problem. GAA will be delighted Mayo made the final...are Kerry sending the minibus yo with their fans ? ;) yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11236 - 24/03/2019 19:23:57 2174885 Link 6 |
Trump, how many Corofin players do you think Kevin Walsh will have in his 15 this championship? If you picked the team how many Corofin players would you start? Are some Corofin players not getting a chance more from style of play rather than ability? Interesting interview with Gary Sice on the GAA hour last week where I thought he was a bit too diplomatic about Corofin v county.

SOrry if this has been asked before but- if corofin played in the National Football League what division would they be in or be comfortable in? leitrim4sam (Leitrim) - Posts: 645 - 25/03/2019 16:28:02 2175343 Link 1 |
Will the full support structures of a county team behind them, I reckon mid-lower division 2. The same was discussed on the GAA Hour and they said upper Division 3, so maybe somewhere from 13th-18th in terms of rankings. It's important too to remember that a lot of teams experiment and lose players to clubs during the league, have player turnover from previous seasons, etc. whereas Corofin have been playing consistently as a team for years. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5016 - 25/03/2019 16:51:20 2175352 Link 1 |
Surely there's at least 3 good players from a two All Ireland in a row team and maybe two more guys that are at least good off the bench.

If Corofin played in the League of Ireland, which 4 players would they cull from the starting 15 to make it a starting 11? Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 25/03/2019 18:46:31 2175379 Link 0 |
Two Corofin players currently play in the League of Ireland, Ryan Luddan and Colin Kelly

Just 9 to cull from 13 then ;-)

Some of them are big and physical enough to play rugby.

Mayo have not won an All Ireland in nearly 70 years so id imagine yer record cant be that good. Galway did beat us yes last year but its finals and not supers 8s where it really matters. As a previous poster pointed out that outside of Dublin nobody can really boast of a good record in Croke Park in recent years. Kerry support has improved this year compared to the last 5 or 6 years and its no surprise given the fresh new outlook but at the end of the day its only the league, however id expect to see one or two mini buses making the journey alright. I expect there will be a decent crowd as it won't clash with Rugby or a major soccer match, etc. and the Kerry-Mayo matches have been fair decent.

Yes looking forward to a good close game, and a big plus is the hurling too as its not often we get to witness a top hurling encounter on the same day as we are playing.

Yeah you can't go wrong with the matchups. Should be a great day.

I can remember playing cork in a league game in the pairc about 5/6 years ago and the Galway hurlers were playing the cork hurlers in the early game, it was my first proper hurling game so I remember it well. Looking forward to watching Limerick v Waterford on Sunday .

Division 4. Big gap between club and county.
