Clifford is already living up to the hype. Sensational finish. A big shout out to the old warrior Donaghy too! Great character shown by the young Kerry lads. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13718 - 22/07/2018 17:48:42 2124760 Link 1 |
Ahhhhhhh sick Monaghan how did they draw that game I'll never know, well done Kerry hung in there for dear life still the only team I think can cause Dublin problems in CP. all to play for now in two weeks time. I wouldn't write Monaghan off Galway are no world beaters imo.

I wonder what sort of attitude Galway will have jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20600 - 22/07/2018 17:50:08 2124762 Link 1 |
You don't get given anything in sort you go out and take it , Monaghan lost this between their ears , better team on top but they salvaged a draw from a winning position, if they are not kicking themselves they should be , Kerry fair play for pulling it out of the bag but I'd see this more about Monaghan lack of ability to close out a game rather than Kerry's resolve , enjoyed the game , next week very interesting Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 22/07/2018 17:53:11 2124764 Link 2 |
Monaghan really messed up today and might be in trouble now, having to go to Salthill looking for a result. dubdec99 (Dublin) - Posts: 180 - 22/07/2018 17:53:12 2124765 Link 0 |
At least they have another chance for a semi and redemption next week instead of having to brood over it for the next 9 months. But they will be disappointed none the less. Interesting to see how they react. Interesting to see how Kerry react too. They have a lot to learn still but showed plenty of fight. Depending how Kildare would like to end their season they might just put it up to them. Galway may select their team with rest for the AI semi final in mind. Literally anything could still happen next weekend. Lots to ponder.

How on earth did Kerry get out of that game with a draw. They played second fiddle for most of the match to Monaghan. Monaghan should have closed out that game, some bad wides when the game was there to be won. Conor McManus was unreal, best foward in the country. Thought a couple of frees he got in the second half were very soft however. Green_Gold (Donegal) - Posts: 1876 - 22/07/2018 17:53:42 2124767 Link 1 |
Donaghy, Donaghy, Donaghy. He hates losing! GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7360 - 22/07/2018 18:00:34 2124770 Link 1 |
Just realised the games are in 2 weeks. Monaghan been on the road for a good few weeks in a row now so the 2 week rest could be just what the doctor ordered. Rest will suit Galway too with less chance of picking up injuries in the next match so no reason why they won't go for it too. Could be a cracker.

You've become very opinionated in your old age Wayno. I suppose nobody can play football now except for professional "money bags" Dublin. Lol. Monaghan are still in it and can win the next day out. seanie_boy (Tyrone) - Posts: 4235 - 22/07/2018 18:09:06 2124773 Link 2 |
Kerry were today and are a very poor team. Hard luck to Monaghan I really like their attitude and style of play they deserved to win that game. As for Kerry maybe 2020 will be the start of something good. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4897 - 22/07/2018 18:15:00 2124775 Link 1 |
Wayno1 is entitled to his opinion, he doesn't speak for Dublin , Monaghan screwed up but they are an experienced side and I don't think they will dwell to long on it , they have s coach I respect and I'd expect he will be preaching the glass is half full all week

What was the difference between what Daniel Flynn did and what Donaghy did. Similar incidents and two game changing punishments EddieL (Kildare) - Posts: 68 - 22/07/2018 18:15:33 2124777 Link 2 |
With a little bit more composure right after Kerry's goal, Monaghan could have won it

Fair play to Kerry, they had to dig deep. Could be lining themselves up for a Dub/Kerry semi. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8596 - 22/07/2018 18:29:33 2124787 Link 0 |
Would rather play Kerry than Monaghan or Galway tbh!

Galway would prefer not to meet Dublin in the All Ireland semi final so I'm guessing they'll be up for their last match. In saying that the semi final comes only a week after the Monaghan match. Monaghan will be disappointed tonight but have this week to get over it before taking the second week to prepare and focus again. Fair play to Kerry today, they hung in there and got a decent draw in the end. Monaghan have 3 points from two All Ireland Quarter final games, that is some going so have nothing to fear in Salthill. The super 8's is blocking easy runs to All Ireland semi finals - it was great to see Kerry having to fight today like counties have had to do for years whilst they pretty much got byes to semi finals. They are still in with a shout but my money is on Monaghan getting a result in Galway - the two week break is crucial. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 999 - 22/07/2018 18:33:47 2124790 Link 0 |
