Dublin V Monaghan

This could be a cracking game, neither team under any pressure with the result. Dubs probably rest a few. Will Monaghan try anything new?

Really good league for us. 31 players used only 3 started every matches new and returning players getting good experience and we still finished in a decent position. Still plenty to work but welcome change to flogging the regulars to death ahead of the Summer. Think malachy be tempted to give younger lads a run out in croke park for the experience.

Yeah hats off

Monaghan have done well and played good football while comfortably staying up and challenging for a final spot.

I hope Dublin start as many young lads as possible, I'd like to see Comeford, McHugh, Basquel, O'Gara, P Small, Costello, Reddin etc start for Dublin

This is a prime opportunity to give game time to the younger lads on the big pitch against a top Ulster side

All jokes aside, I wish it wasn't a dead rubber game as Monaghan have put it up to us in the league over the last few years. Still I hope it's competitve, and I mean that from our side, I know Monaghan will be.

A complete dead rubber. A nothing game.

Damned if we do and damned if we don't eh.

Hoping we give it a right lash and tear into them, unlike last August. If we do we have a good chance of coming away with a win, they are bound to have one eye on the final and this game could be an inconvenience for them.

From a Dublin perspective its just a matter of giving some of the younger and inexperienced lads some game time. Would still like us to continue our unbeaten run so hopefully we can get a result, good chance for Monaghan as well, you'd fancy them to make the Super 8 so a game in Croker will do them good

Disagree , fringe Dublin players always looking to impress so no such thing as a nothing Game for Dublin players.

Very important game from a Dubs perspective to continue to blood young lads. It's not often that you get the luxury of a Croke Park dead rubber to do that. Basquel, Howard, McHugh, Costello, Scully need more game time. Flynner, Berno, DC, Kev Mc are bit players, if even, now and unlikely that we'll see much of them in the summer so the baton has been handed over to the young fellas. If we throw Con in there as well that forward line is shaping up well. They need more game time though so let's hope he gives them all a good gallop on Sun.

Monaghan can use this game to plan for a future encounter later in in August. You don't improve by playing weaker opponents, but by playing better ones.

I predict that Monaghan make the super 8s and are there or thereabouts to make the semis.

I hope to tip to this Double header Saturday evening(i'm in dublin for the weekend) should be an interesting game of football .I'd pay money to watch McManaus he is a joy to watch and dublin are always value for money no matter what side they put out out.

Its a game that both managements will be looking forward to with no pressure on but still all 30 players who start will be busting a gut to impress.Has potential to be a very open attractive game of football.

Looking forward to seeing David garland of Monaghan and maybe more of Cormac Costello
Conor McHughand Andrew McGowan for Dublin.

The double header is on Sunday. Hurling throws in at 1 football throws in at 3.
Enjoy the games

Funny, I think this game is more than just a dead rubber match for Monaghan. I am sure the lads will be keen to put in a good performance after last year's humiliation and come away with the two points. Whatever the result, it will be a different challenge come summer time - hopefully!

If it's only a junior D side why not play it in Parnell Park ...the home of Dublin football

Well I'm looking forward to it

It's a good advantage to have already made the final

An ideal opportunity to keep the faith with the new lads and I hope we see at least 10 younger players start

Well indeed, my post wasn't having a slice off Monaghan by the way, I think it's documented on here that I fully respect them as a serious outfit. It was in reference to the importance of the game from our point of view.
