Replying To 890202:  "The highlights program tonight will consist of showing us highlights of the two matches they have already shown and very short clips of the other games. Should be the other way around. I'd much prefer to see extended highlights of the games that weren't televised"
yeah, true the highlights program on tg4 for the league was far superior.

Replying To Mayonman:  "I realise there is a lot of anti sky sentiment out there but leaving the pay per view aspect aside how do ye rate the analysis on sky versus rte????

My opinion Canavan (Jamesie in the hurling) and company are miles a head of RTE. RTE love phrases like "whoever wants it more" "Cork have to tear into them" "they were very flat" where as SKY go a tad deeper with their analysis."
Agreed, Sky is light years ahead its not even close. You can count on one hand the amount of good analysts on RTE out of a pool of about thirty. Its quality across the board on Sky.

Replying To 890202:  "Today they decide to show Derry v Tyrone, despite the fact that BBC is going to show it too. Why not show us one of the other games rather than show a game already on elsewhere"
BBC can only show games that RTE have. It's the package they have. Anything else has to be delayed coverage from the BBC.

RTE are reluctant to let BBC have a clear run in Ulster. They seem to have an obsession with showing Ulster matches live (7 out of 8 this year) before engaging in a studio based moanfest for analysis.
It would be refreshing for RTE to show Louth/Meath or Kildare/Laois this Sunday before going to Limerick/Clare hurling match. More than likely both BBC and RTE will broadcast Down/Armagh match.
So strange to have them persist with something that they have such scant regard or respect for.
