Tyrone have received a huge boost for their 2020 campaign with the news that star forward Cathal McShane has decided not to pursue a career in the AFL.
McShane trained with Adelaide on a ten-day trial last month and the club revealed late last night that he has since decided to remain in his home country.
A statement from Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid on the 24-year-old’s decision read as follows:
"It is a big decision to relocate to the other side of the world and pursue a professional career in a different sport.
"Ultimately, this was not something that Cathal was ready for and we wish him the very best in his endeavours both on and off the field."
Tyrone take on Kerry in Round 3 of the Allianz League this Sunday and it is thought that McShane could be included in Mickey Harte’s match-day squad for the Omagh clash.
